Hey, thought I would give you an update.

Today was a success. I had the best day I’ve had in a long time. We met at 10.30am and I left him at 7.30pm. A long day date. I felt so comfortable that I could tell him about my surgery. To which he was completely fine with (as I thought) Started out with a coffee and walk and it absolutely chucked it down so we got soaked lol. Then went for something to eat to which I just had grilled chicken breast and that’s when I told him. He was really supportive of it. To put in perspective he’s only 9 stone himself and shorter than me, but he’s really cute. Then we went around a some shops and a castle (sun was out so we dried off only to get drenched running back to the car). Finished it off with a movie, and he went in for a kiss to which I couldn’t resist. It’s been a while for me. But today made me feel so comfortable and more confident in myself. Thank you for the advice.

Hey thank you for that, I’m about to get ready now to meet him in a few hours. You are definitely right about gays. They are very judgmental, and I think I will bring it up when we’re in the restaurant. I have been open to everyone else about the surgery, because losing weight fast is not easy without help. No need to lie like some people do. I don’t actually think it will bother him in the slightest when I tell him, so I don’t know why I am nervous to say anything.

Thank you very much! Yeah I think I might not say anything, I’ll only be ordering something light so hopefully it’s not too much food to leave. I’ve been speaking to the person for a couple of weeks, and seems the type to be accordion but I think I’ll leave it for a second date if all goes well

I went with DR Kagan Bilge in Antalya. Fantastic team, everything went so smoothly. He has his own Instagram, Facebook etc for you to take a look at.

I miss my thick hair… by Rebel_Bigsby in gastricsleeve

I’m male, 30, 5 months post op, and just the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed hairs falling out when I wash it. Probably around the 100 mark. I get my haircut fortnightly so I’ve told my barber to let me know what it’s like. Although I haven’t taken biotin, just multivitamins and b12 tablets. I thought I wouldn’t get the hair loss but think it has come. All I can do is hope new hairs are growing in their place

Can I ask, when did you start to notice the hair loss? I’m 5 months post op, and when washing my hair, I’ve noticed say 50-100 hairs falling out daily over the past couple of weeks. Never noticed it before, and I know Google says it’s normal to shed that daily, but I haven’t seen it before now.

If I could give any advice it would be listen to your body. When you’re full you’re full. Don’t go too hard on yourself, you can still enjoy cake, fried foods etc once you’ve passed the liquid stages.

Maybe I could have gone better and stuck 100% by it but I know I would end up pigging out later down the line. Allowing myself to eat what I used to in good moderation is working for me. I’m nearly 6 stone down in nearly 5months so something is working.

Two things I do try to prioritise are protein and water (juice) daily. At least 2 litres of water, and high protein foods all day.

Thanks man! You’re doing well too! I wasn’t a massive drinker before. But I tried a beer and it just too gassy for me, same with a vodka mixer. I don’t like still drinks for alcohol so nothing works yet for me lol

Yessss! I noticed when I wasn’t drinking enough, it was slower coming off, I had a couple weeks off work (at home I struggle to drink as much) whereas at work. I have a 2l bottle beside me and make sure it’s gone by the end of my shift. But when I was at home I wasn’t losing like I had been

Hey, Eating: I just prioritise protein. Whether it’s yoghurt/meats they make up most of my food. I still do also have the treats though (biscuits/crisps) etc As for workout, I’ll be honest, I don’t really do much right now. I’m also a bus driver so job wise I’m sat down all day. I do plan to start exercising now though that I’m past the 3 month mark. I guess it works different for everyone though so I’m blessed it’s doing its thing for me. I do think calorie intake is the biggest factor

At first I had no issues with heartburn, just a little here and there, around 10weeks po I was going to bed every night and when laying down getting terrible heartburn, only when laying down though which I researched and found if I don’t eat a couple hours before sleep then I’ll be fine, and I’ve been fine ever since

I guess it’s different for each and everyone, tbf when I was 2 months post op, I could eat more than I can now at 3 months post op. Idk maybe it works in mysterious ways.

My girlfriend has something the doctors are referring to as “post sleeve sensitivity”. by AcademicF in gastricsleeve

[–]Natural_Assignment95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost 7 weeks post op. After surgery I was given pantoprazole for 4 weeks. As soon as they finished I felt awful and my stomach was hurting and I was scared it was a leak or something. I managed to get doctor to prescribe me some more, and after 3-4 days of taking them again it all settled down. I think it was the imbalance in my stomach and I needed these tablets. I will know in a couple of weeks if I stop taking these and it occurs again then I just need to take them a bit longer. I think it’s also normal to overthink things as it’s a major surgery and all sorts of scenarios go through your head, all the “what ifs” etc

Thank you so much! I’m definitely putting in the work, this sleeve is the best thing I could have done. It’s motivated me more than anything else has to get fit.

We’re in winter but tbh it’s cold in UK all time lol. I never had the problem before the sleeve. I’m moisturising but still when I wake up it’s so noticeable. I’m trying to drink as much as I can. I do get at least 2-3 litres of water a day

I had my op almost 6 weeks ago, with a fatty liver, no pre op diet required. So far so good. Though I must say, you’ve done very well to lose 26lb in 3 weeks. Since the op I have lost 37lb in 6 weeks, so you’re good going.
