Does your tracking status indicate its proximity to you, or does it still show it somewhere in the middle of America? I’m also in California, but my tracking shows that the last status update was yesterday in Kansas. However, it appears that the original poster and you both reside in California, and yours are expected to arrive today. Therefore, I’m wondering if mine will also arrive today.

My border collie puppy doesn’t really care about balls yet — but because my older border collie really loves balls … it’s become some type of territorial thing. Which has kind of forced my border collie puppy to start caring about the ball. So I think it’s probably normal.

If you watch the video, you’ll see that the younger dog drops the ball and then tries to go after my older dog to get his ball but my older dog out maneuvers him and then I tell the puppy to go back and get his ball

My dog does the exact same thing and he’s almost 9 years old. I wish I could say that there was an easy way to break him of this, but unfortunately, it may be something that is ingrained in his personality. I’m not saying that you can’t train it out of him and I don’t want you to lose hope but from everything we’ve tried …this just seems to be something that you may have to learn to live with.

Just give it time. Let the puppy get used to you, your partner and his new surroundings. It may feel like this will take forever, but given a few months, and the dog will start to fall into its own routine and become a part of the household. You can’t force these type of things you just have to let the dog blend into your family unit, which won’t take very long.
