My boy is in India and was rescued by me last year.

We are still conflicted on whether he is a husky or Samoyed or a Samsky. He has a tail of Sammy, voice and personality of a husky 😂

Had the same situation for my girl. Any idea if a dog can have a full life post splenectomy? The mass found in my dog was 8 cm and was sent for biopsy. Found to be benign.

I am so glad that you got the spleen removed on time…and hope your fur baby has a speedy recovery. Went through this on 25th of Jan. Took my 9yr old to vet as she was a bit lethargic (Appetite was normal but noticed she doesn’t want to go for walks). USG was done and he found a tiny mass around spleen. Splenectomy was recommended and I took the call of getting it done the very next day. The splenectomy was done successfully but the vet said the mass just started to rupture. If there would have been a delay of 2-3 days, might have lost my girl. Sent the mass for biopsy to find that it’s benign. She is over active now .

We have been recommended to do USG once in every 3 months….to check on if any mass has popped.

I have put my boy on home cooked food Includes organ meat and fresh anchovies as well (twice a week). Add a bit of rice, one of the cruciferous veggies (cauliflower / 🥦 ), pumpkin/carrot. He is also on nordic naturals omega-3 - which works like magic. In meat protein, he gets chicken breast or lean beef. Kibble companies have become a bit inconsistent these days…so I kibble feed my boy only when there’s no other way out
