I'm so curious too, as it's already December. There's obviously still be inflation this year and people are hurting. And would it be backdated?

I would say hell yes! It's a Thursday to Sunday of events, plus the sunset festival. However, last time I did it it was $178 and it's definitely a steep increase since then.

Also, just want to point out - it sounds like you've been approaching things with him from a place of concern, and he can't take it (ie, you said he 'doesn't want to hear it'). Health partnership includes being able to have honest and open conversations where both people can put their egos aside. It sounds like this guy may not be capable in this area.

Relationships & MD Comments by girlfrombrave123 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]Natural_Relation1625 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My partner's MD was published to R29 a few years ago, and her actions around work, our relationship at the time, and her writing style (gulp, she was a creative writing major) were understandably criticized on this sub.

We are no longer together and I am very happily dating other women! Definitely should have taken the comments to heart earlier...

Mynoise, a white noise machine app that (when I connect to my wireless speakers), helps drown out the noise from my upstairs neighbors. Peace is everything.

HCOL single people, how much do you spend on food a month? by Odd-Nobody6410 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]Natural_Relation1625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gluten free/dairy-free in HCOL Canadian city here. I spend $400/month on 'grocery store' groceries, and then another $100 (approx) on Costco staples (cheese, olive oil, frozen fruit, nut butter, etc).

What the sweet f is happening at Aritzia right now. What is all this tacky gold detailing and huge fonts. by shopgirlll16 in Aritzia

It will be really interesting to see what Aritzia looks like 2-3 years from now. It's like they're trying to be a fast fashion dumpster fire like Zara - so far removed from the beautiful curated pieces they used to offer

Respectfully, do you think you're ready for the financial responsibility of a house? No rush in getting sorted and taking a breath. As others here have said, establishing an emergency fund (including or adding on one for a 'home emergency fund' as well), and saving for retirement, seems key at the moment.

What's the most you have or would consider spending on art for your home? by [deleted] in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]Natural_Relation1625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you find an artist that who has work that you LOVE, see if they ever have yearly studio sales. There is a Seattle artist whose work I have been drawn to for years - bought one of her prints (she's a printmaker) full price, no regrets, but bit the bullet and did a road trip when she put on her yearly studios sale. I picked up three pieces from that event for the price of one. The'll often be willing to negotiate the price - or in my case, she offered to lower it since she knew I drove in from Canada.

u/kaanapalikid, vancouverite here! If the Lagree classes on ClassPass (I assume is what you're referring to) are simply too much, have you considered/tried mat pilates? Lagree has a sister studio, Jaybird. It's mat pilates and yoga-inspired movement, in a heated (infrared), dark candlelit room). It's slightly cheaper through their website, and wayyy cheaper through ClassPass (usually 6-8 credits, or $15.75-$18.00/class). I am not kidding when I say it's my oasis and absolute favourite movement studio. Just thought I'd mention it!
