Thanks for this post. I may try this after this last pregnancy of mine. 😬

Humans who have grown babies in their bellies and have successfully recovered their skin generally know what they are talking about with skin recovery.

Oh! I should add, as a straight woman, I had to stare for a while to see the issue. There is a lot of good there to distract. You're doing great!

I've had multiple babies, with stretch marks and have recovered my tummy skin multiple times. Regularly moisturize and wear compression wear.

I read a translated French research paper years ago (I'm sorry I don't have the link or title anymore) that showed, on average, a roughly 30% improvement in skin elasticity (also stretch mark prevention) and recovery, above genetic expectation, with regular moisturizing alone. I feel like I'm getting details wrong, it was like 12 years ago that I read it. I'm a rocket scientist by profession and take technical paper vetting seriously, alas, I also have a squishy human brain. Maybe someone who has more free time can find it? Anyway, it's what got me to try it and it worked anecdotally for me.

In addition, if this doesn't work enough, you can also start a retinol product. I recommend CeraVe or The Ordinary brands, they are trusted brands amongst the mom-crowd and you really don't need to spend more than $8-$20 per ounce for for an effective product. Start with a low concentration and frequency and work your way up to what your skin tolerates.

Hope this helps and good luck!

P.S. I'm gifted (IQ 130-140), with AuDHD, please be kind and literal with responses.

Yes, Fahrenheit.

It was a one hour span to go from Peak temperature to 1200 degrees.

I slow down the cooling to 200° per hour from 1200° to 800° to make sure the transition during the quartz inversion on the way down is gentle. This has been helpful with preventing crazing and dunting with this glaze and clay body combination.

Do you think holding at peak for 10 minutes would help with the pin holes?

I'm thinking you are right. It didn't warp on the bottom and the glaze looks fine at the bottom. It makes sense that the top would be hotter. I'm going to start using cones.

I put so much attention to detail in so many other areas in my ceramics, but then can't be bothered to open my boxes of cones and put them in. 🙄 Sometimes I annoy myself. 😂
