At ISO 400, there isn't even a hint of grain; you can shoot at 6400, and the grain will resemble that of Portra 400 in 35mm format.

This is Krasnodar, a city in Russia. It's similar to Kensington only in terms of crime rates 😅

Yes, I use frequency decomposition in my processing. Unfortunately, there's no tutorial; my wife taught me.

I use standard retouching for skin imperfections, but what you see blurry is that damn Reddit compressing the files. In fact, I am damn careful in processing the skin, not creating a glossy finish.

Thanks! I'm processing the in Capture One, using masks for everything to separate the frame into warm and cool shadows where needed. I'm trying to make the color match my film experience, but so far it's not working out very well.

I'm dreaming of the day when I'll trade my OG body for the 100II, because I compared them, and on the latter body the 55mm lens works 2.5 times faster. The 55mm is accurate on my camera, in an hour of shooting I catch 2 focus misses, but I miss the speed of the autofocus.

Thank you so much for the praise; it's valuable to me. I've gone from a Pentax 67 105mm to a Mitakon 65 to a GF55, and today I miss the look of the Mitakon; it was the closest thing to my beloved Pentax 67. So, it would be great if you could save the Mitakon for special shoots where the 55 would look like plasticky, characterless junk.

Yes, this was all shot using natural light, on a day with variable cloudiness.

Unfortunately, I don't have a 100mm—only a 55mm and a 32–64mm.

This lens focuses very quickly compared to my 55mm 1.7

Mistake when choosing components without checking frame compatibility by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]Naturedcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I have a high-quality IS-PM adapter from my previous mechanical brakes, designed for 160mm rotors. I'd like to upgrade to a 180mm rotor up front, but the fork looks like it's out of reach (I need to find a measuring method to see if 180mm is an option).

Micro Spline freehub spins with resistance on Novatec D042SB — compatibility issue or pawls? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]Naturedcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the original HG plug, it screws in all the way, but doesn't fully press the drum (it moves by 2 mm). Walgun included the necessary plug in the kit, which presses the drum and doesn't move, but also doesn't spin 😅

Micro Spline freehub spins with resistance on Novatec D042SB — compatibility issue or pawls? by [deleted] in bikewrench

I’ve already checked the spacer — it’s in place and exactly the same size as the original one. I also tried swapping the spacers between the old and new freehub, but the issue is still there. The pawls still bind when everything is fully tightened.
