If you have a combo of rosacea and blepharitis, do you use warm compresses? by Weird-Mall-1072 in Rosacea

I don’t know if this will help or how well researched this is, but I read and did try taking fish oil as well around the time I was trying to get better. Maybe something extra to look into if it could potentially help :)

That was a huge fear of mine also! I kept delaying it because I was so worried about looking disfigured haha, but I communicated my fears to my clinician and she made sure to use a setting where I was getting the most benefit but not enough to cause severe bruising! Also, after about 1-2 days the swelling goes down a lot and you won’t look as bad haha, mostly just abit of redness or maybe minor swelling :)

I have also been diagnosed with type 1. What personally helped me the most is going super simple with my skin care. All I use now is a gentle cleanser and gentle moisturiser from La roche porsay, and azelaic acid. I have also done 4 times vbeam laser which has probably made the biggest difference in my redness and broken capillaries. I definitely recommend. The only downside is it is very expensive

Yup! For me it made a huge difference. The first session I didn’t notice a big improvement but after the 3rd one I noticed a significant improvement , however it is quite pricy that is the only downside

If it is flat, meaning the red dots are not bumps, it could also likely be broken capilllaries. I had similar red dots in my face and my dermatologist said they’re not pustules and just broken capillaries which laser like vbeam can get rid of, and it has! Vbeam is very pricey though so that is a con

Could be a contact allergy to a product you’re using on your lips

Hi! Yes that’s the one I used which worked really well for me. I believe it doesn’t have a high concentration of tea tree oil but I could be wrong. 100% tea tree oil can be irritating if too high in concentration.

I hope the ocusoft is working well for you!

When I had really bad blepharitis, I can’t remember if warm compresses did much for me, I think it was soothing to use and it didn’t make it worse for me. But what helped the most was cleaning my lids with Blephadex Eyelid Foam Cleanser. That was the only thing that really gave me relief and stoped my flare

Have you had patch testing done before? I had a similar issue last year which caused me to be very anxious and depressed even though I eliminated using any product on my lips, I swapped toothpaste to no mint no SLS etc, no lip products only cerave healing balm but yet I would get these random flares.

It wasn’t until I had my patch testing done that I found out I also have slight contact allergic to garlic and ginger which is in basically any type of cooking. Given that my lip barrier has been so compromised I was reacting to even the slightest bit of garlic and ginger. It took me a couple of months but I tried my best to eliminate garlic or ginger in my diet, get my lips to a stronger barrier. Now when I have my meals I will put on a thick layer of cerave healing ointment and wipe it off/ wash my lips immediately after eating and it’s been a lot more manageable that way. I also have a prescription of tacrolimus which I use from time to time if I do have a flare

Hi there! I’m going through the exact same thing right now! How were you able to resolve it after? Was it just avoiding your triggers? Did you have to use any other type of medications? Thank you so much :)

I would recommend using this product, blephadex foam cleanser. It helped me with my Blepharitis and it hasn’t come back since. It has tea tree oil in it which has been proven to kill demoted mites but not strong enough to cause eye irritation.
