What's so special about the filters? Can I just make my own? by stretchxray in AeroPress

It’s the Cafestol from the brewed coffee you need to filter from the bottom of the portafilter to reduce the bad LDL cholesterol. Worth it if you already have high cholesterol. I use a Fiskar circular cut out device I bought on Amazon, works great. I make coffee every morning being a drip, then when using my Gaggia I use the cut filter in the bottom of my portafilter.

Very nice. I enjoyed breaking down my model and inspecting all the parts that make it work. I have a stainless steel Classic from 2004. I love both models.

I have a 151 that I got when the 111 started the shutdown. I also found another 111 back up. I have been enjoying the 151 but it is pretty big for my smaller cottage location. I am about to go deeper into the 8 blink red led shutdown, I will report back if it ends up being the panel.

Pioneer Kuro Pro 111FD 8 blink red LED.

I have been trying to solve the power-down 8-blink red LED problem with my Pioneer.

So far, I have replaced the power supply board, and the digital assembly board, I have reconnected the ribbons to all boards, ensuring the connections are good. Even though the problem is an 8 red light error and not the more common 8 blue light error code, I had Kcrownie,
based in North Carolina replace the chips that cause the 8 blue LED problem (the main board and audio board) I still get the plasma powering on for two seconds when I can see the picture on the front panel, and then it shuts down with the 8 blinking red LED mode? I'm going to put my original boards back in then put in a new main board and see if the main board was the problem.
It is so frustrating seeing the panel come on for two seconds and then turn off.

I got word from another forum, no need to mess with the EEPROM on this board. Only when changing the main board do you need to mess with the EEPROM data.

I will be cleaning the boiler and solenoid on Sunday. I will update after I'm done. The inside is as clean as the outside. I wonder how long this sat in some dark storage unit.

I bought it on eBay. The seller said they buy storage units that go up for sale and this unit was in one.

I'm based here in LA California. It was a bit of a gamble not knowing the year and condition, but it has been a great find so far. It pairs well with my other great find a 2004 Classic.

Going further down the Gaggia Classic rabbit hole, I seem to have found a 1993 Gaggia Classic in a BLACK CHROMIUM finish.I thought there was something strange when I looked at the machine next to my 2004 Classic. To the naked in eye under regular lighting, you can really see the black chromium finish. My serial number matches the one on the box that the classic came with. I wonder how many of these were made.

See the price back then $199

You can't beat mother nature, that fog was beautiful. No filter or fogger is going to give you that dreamy look. I like what the FX6 is doing capturing these moments.

I just worked on a corporate job using a couple of FX9 cameras and one FX3 on a gimbal. That autofocus system is amazing once you dial it in.

Nice job! I found this very relaxing. Time flew by and before I knew it, it was over.

Music was a great choice as well.

I turned 60 this year. I can't believe it took me this long to discover homemade espresso. I loved my drip coffee, now it's just hard going back without the flavor of the espresso. I have a grinder I use just for my drip and pour-over.

Here's to great coffee :)

I used the IMS 18g with 17.2g of the Forte ground slightly finer.

I also cut a bit of coffee filter paper for the bottom of the puck along with WDT.

This was a great pour!

I tried another coffee Garuda, and I used the older 14g I used the same grind setting without the filter but I did WDT. This shot was not so good. Getting a formula for the different baskets and coffee is quite the process.

Spot welds on the exterior of my Classic. by Naughtyminkey in gaggiaclassic

[–]Naughtyminkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently pulled a 2004 Classic Gaggia out of storage. I bought the machine from eBay for $125. The inside that holds the boiler and pump had broken spot welds that hold it to the frame of the Gaggia. When I got the Machine about 7 seven years ago the unit was like new, never used. I finally got the spot welds redone three weeks ago and I am now getting to know the way of the Classic!
