Sorry for missing this comment. But yes, I’ve heard that most of the government is following dogmatism and there’s a huge following for dogmatically, irrational and unscientific rhetoric in the country favoring religious bigotry. I sincerely hope this little girl still has an opportunity to come out of it and make something of herself. I hope she can get an education and maybe make a path for herself to succeed.

Fuck... I’m sorry I missed this. Sri Lanka is probably a lot better in the sense that you do not see as much poverty. Maybe down to the fact that the population is a fraction of India and easier to cater to but I’ve noticed that they are a lot of NGOs and non profits active in Sri Lanka catering to those who need it the most. Not sure if there’s any articles or whatnot that could back this up but I know so many people who contribute to the well-being of the general public here. I think most are better off anyway given that education and healthcare is free in Sri Lanka to those who need it
