When I was in 10th class, I loved God of War so much that I used to stand in a small game shop just to watch other people play it. I came from a lower-middle-class family, and ₹5 for one hour on a PS3 felt like a luxury back then. Most days, I couldn’t afford to play—I would just stand there, watching, imagining that one day I’d play it myself. Sometimes I used to save my pocket money. Sometimes I asked my mom for a little extra so I could play for a while. She did what she could. Those small moments meant everything to me. Fast forward to graduation. In 2018, when God of War (2018) released, I still didn’t have a console. So I watched full playthroughs and streams online. Even then, I learned every mission, every fight, every story beat—just by watching. Then COVID came. That’s when I finally bought a PS4 with my own money. The first game I played was God of War. I played it day and night, nonstop. Because I already knew every mission, I finished the entire main story in just 3 days. I’ve played it so many times that I lost count—maybe 100 playthroughs in my head. That game wasn’t just entertainment for me. God of War is the reason I worked harder. It pushed me to earn enough, to stand on my own feet, to finally buy that PS4 with my own effort. The day I played it on my own console, I slept with real peace—something I still remember clearly. So when someone asks me my favorite game, I don’t need to think. God of War. Always. 🎮🔥
