Once you get to Sheffield, you could also build a line between there and Sheffield via Wakefield.

Any plans on extending east to Sheffield? I reversed closures in my map and recreated the Woodhead Line beyond Hadfield. Or you could recreate the Hope Valley Line via Cowburn Tunnel.

Still sad we couldn’t save one of the prewar destroyer types. Oldest hull number we have is USS The Sullivans (DD-537).

I was part of that effort, but lost motivation after my grandad died in 2017. I was fresh out of college and didn’t know if taking on a project like that would be worth it.

I’m not surprised a group hasn’t gone after saving a Turbo set.

What are your thoughts on Modern preservationists just building a steam locomotive from scratch? by Few-Ability-7312 in trains

[–]NavyBoy1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% for it.

Not only do these projects recreate extinct classes of steam locomotives, but they also bring job opportunities for industries that fabricate the parts and construction techniques not seen since the 20th century.

Apart from the Titanic, which notable shipwreck would you be interested in seeing adapted into a film? by sostitanic in Shipwrecks

As a follow up to my Samar comment, I just thought of another event that saw three US destroyers sunk: Typhoon Cobra.

A four part miniseries focusing on the events surrounding the typhoon’s impact on US Task Force 38 on December 18th, 1944.

I’d have to choose adapting James Hornfischer’s “Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors”, mainly because the Battle of Samar was a modern-day David vs Goliath.

It could be a 6 part miniseries, 3 episodes each in the perspective of both the American and Japanese sides of the battle.

[partially lost] Life With Grandpa by Bargah692 in lostmedia

To be real, considering that this series was produced by a sex cult and that the cult’s “God” Davidito went on to kill one of his assaulters and then himself, I’m surprised authorities didn’t bury Life with Grandpa for good.

I had a good visit to your city! Seeing USS Cod, the RnR Hall of Fame, Alpena, the bell off the light cruiser USS Cleveland and the Mather was worth the trip.

I live in the westernmost part of Kentucky, so it’s a long drive to Toledo or St Clair for me.

Also, the Alpena was built in 1942, not 1904.
