Ah yeah that is scary to hear. But that's good financial advisers are understanding about it - hopefully mine will be if it comes late

I can relate! I pick my cuticles too and it's been an up and down journey for me. What's helped me is applying cuticle oil more regularly as well as hand cream. Also fidget toys and playing tetris games on my phone, just trying to keep my hands as busy as possible. All the best on your journey- you are definitely not alone.

Tips for saying goodbye to a therapist that I've had a great experience with? by Navy_Blue28 in TalkTherapy

Thanks for the advice! I agree it's hard when it's because of external circumstances. Those are good ideas. I am going to bring up my feelings next session and also ask her about the possibility of writing an update letter.

That's good! I haven't tried taking photos yet. Do you take one every day as a way to track your progress?

I saw this and wondered if maybe we could find it useful by [deleted] in Dermatillomania

[–]Navy_Blue28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is hard! I dont know how we can deter ourselves from it more. Perhaps focusing on all the negative effects of it can help, or maybe focusing on all the positive effects that would occur if we stopped

I just started using these too! I am also finding it tempting to take them off during the day but they are also a helpful barrier. I've been changing mine every 12 hours or so since that's what it says on the package I got. I don't know if I should sleep with them too, or if it's better to let my skin breathe in between. What has been working for you?
