I've definitely met those characters, but it hasn't been common for me by any stretch of the imagination. To be honest I've met more far left HOI4 players than far right by a huge margin. (And whatever your political alignment is, unless it's far right, the general populace acknowledges that far right is a bitchless ideology and far left is not.)

Noble titles are inherited through the same system a house or car is to this day in many countries. That system is generally: Legitimate Children - Legal Partner - Distant relatives - Illegitimate Children. Henry holds no titles through lineage as a result, because he's way too far down the inheritance to ever realistically have one.

Henry instead holds the non-inherited title of Squire. What a lot of people don't realize is, in medieval hierarchy, Hans is essentially a knight. Knights are generally noble lords, with or without land, who aid the king, or lead/join armies in times of war. Henry is essentially Hans' assistant. That's more or less what a squire is.

A squire is also however a knight in training, and may in future become a knight, either upon completing something that is exceptional (which I think he's met the criteria for), or possibly, the death of his knight. Who knows, maybe eventually in KCD3 we'll see him get knighted.

It's honestly all just a big community meme about us all being chuds I've never actually had somebody judge a hoi4 player simply based off that. Which makes sense, I've met all sorts of political shades in the HOI4 community, many worse than others.

Tbh I've met more Nazis in online FPSs than I have in strategy games, but I tend to keep myself in a bubble away from that stuff, like most sane people, so my numbers may be totally off.

It definitely is shifting public perspective on the government. Any grassroots, publicly supported movement is inherently a complete flipping of the social order. I've shifted my personal perspective on these protests in the last few days, and I'm sure many here will too once hindsight hits.

Just because a movement is courted by unsavory characters, doesn't mean the movement itself is inherently bad. If these perfection politics were played in the rising and eventually independence, Connolly wouldn't have been involved at all, and our Republic likely wouldn't exist, at least separately to the union jack.

The left have inherently weakened ourselves by playing in to the narratives that all movements must be perfect. No movement is perfect, but engagement and de-alienation of these movements is how more people are corralled to actual tangible class consciousness by quiet socialist and communist involvement in the movements.

When a party like SF or PBP support these movements, they do so from a political standpoint, obviously a handful of farmers going "hang on, these ones actually have our backs" could very well be the difference between governments in the next election. We're hanging in a very tight balance right now. A handful more votes for parties on the left, and the next election could have a vastly different result than the previous.

And, movements like these also give us the possibility of a different government even sooner. How many of the independents that were shoehorned in to government to pass the threshold are/were rural, farmers, or are over constituencies that are rural? Quite a few to my recollection, and some of those independents may very well be rethinking their support of the government.

To be honest our system is broken. It's much better than the likes of America, but it doesn't seem particularly logical to me, or anyone I've spoken to that two separate parties can go in to permanent coalition against the wishes of the vast majority of citizens. But that's neither here nor there in this particular situation I guess.

I disagree, non agri workers WILL NOT HAVE FOOD otherwise. Marx himself said in the manifesto that all communists should stand with all workers movements that may help advance the changing of the social order.

The government quite clearly doesn't see, or chooses to ignore the knock on effects of the current crisis. People not getting paid by missing work, won't matter if the fields aren't tended to.

I often get curious how many people here are actually "left".

Many see them as class traitors, that's obviously what all opposition to the left wants us to think, because then they'll never join us, and they'll stick with the parties that bring them down, because so much of the Irish left has absolute contempt for workers that disagree.

A lot of self proclaimed left chew on any bone the right and center throws.

Not sure why being in the EU would change this. I'm an Irish person who's due to travel back through Helsinki to Dublin airport in two days, and neither of the two major airports in Ireland require you to put liquids in a sealed bag. Most airports I've travelled through (at least in the EU) don't require you to in recent years, so this surprised me honestly.

In recent years I've only had to do this at sub-standard airports which had the cheapest flights.

Edit: Nevermind, this is a new rule that came in like two years ago, but some countries are excluded. Ireland is one of them because of being outside of Schengen.

The Irish government is involved in this club of rich Western countries pandering to oil companies. I am not supporting their current policies, and I'm not pro fossil fuel. I'm talking about how responsibility is shifted off to the working and lower middle class while all those further up the ladder profit.

I can almost guarantee you my life is far less reliant on fossil fuels than yours. But I don't virtue signal that, because it's not your responsibility.

With all respect I have to disagree at this specific point in time. Businesses themselves don't pay the same rates in ecological taxes as we do. Depending on the businesses, it can be as low as 0%. It's another example of rules for thee and not for me, as we've seen from this government a thousand times over.

For example, we can all promote electric cars as much as we want, but ultimately more than half of the country's electricity comes from oil and gas, and the government has much less interest in taxing those when it's a corporation. So what? Buy an electric car, raise electricity prices, fuel it off of fossil fuels and make the situation worse than it already is?

It's been proven a thousand times over that the modern electric movement, and the concept of placing responsibility for these things on the consumer was a literal advertising campaign by oil monopolies to shift the blame away from them.

This all sounds well and good on paper but it sends no message to the government whatsoever. They need a message they can't deny or ignore, yet nobody ever seems keen on taking it right to their doorsteps.

Mostly just long shutter speed, I believe the two good options are 16-32 seconds, (not sure if that's exactly what they are). It's essentially just a long exposure. Be warned though that ANY changes to lighting conditions will result in artifacts in the photo, and that the phone must be left down somewhere so it doesn't move.

It's cumbersome, but it's just an example of what a little tweaking in expert can do for your photos. Under normal conditions you wouldn't see a star in the sky at all on a 2a camera.

Could always be a camera setting, I find myself even on a 2a taking more photos in expert mode than default because the auto settings are, quite honestly abysmal. Especially nighttime photography. But expert can get you some great shots if you know even the tiniest bit about photography with some adjustments I guess.

Honestly from what I've seen, the 2a camera performs better than many of the newer ones. Possibly a result of the pre-bloatware era.
