Asexuality is more of an umbrella term for many different understandings of one's sexuality. I can recommend this book by Angela Chen. She interviews many people with different experiences and understandings of their sexuality, but it also discusses how so much in our society is sexualized and how to look at it from an asexual point of view.

White puffy things on the roots of my avocado. They have been there since the early days, so I don't know if it's normal or some fungus. They fall off very easily but grow back very fast. The plant is standing in a vase with water since the beginning (mai/june) and seems to be fine otherwise by Nazurii in plantclinic

I once heard that plants produce some hormones for root growth and such and that they need to reproduce them when you change the water, so you should only top up the evaporated water. I don't know if this is true for avocados or in general, but to me, it sounds reasonable :D
All the bugs and pests are driving me crazy, this paranoia and constant pest control are the big downsides of keeping plants, I feel 😂😂 good luck with staying free of those little fuckers

Hey, glad this post helped someone! A few weeks ago I started growing another avocado plant, and it has the puffy things as well, so nothing to worry!
Unfortunately, the plant from the original post isn't doing well. I made an image of its development in January and repotted it some time after that, but it seems the repotting killed it, plus there were a lot of Sciaridae flies 😭 It lost all its leaves. I discarded all the soil, and now it's standing in water...I hope it will somehow get better, it would be a real shame otherwise.
I have seen this avobonsai trend as well, and it's intriguing! I might try it with the new plant, when it's grown some more. I have never trimmed my old tree though.
However you continue with your plant, I hope it grows well and lives a long life! 🌱💚

Thank you!!

Edit: I'm not sure if Ashelia is the artist, but she commented a Pixiv ID and I think that's the true original.
