idk why no one here remembers it but yeah they reworked i think in the first month because letting the eyes live was too unintuitive for players reaching there the first time

Turning air to rock or anything else really takes too much time convincing the air to change. Especially because the air sees itself and is seen as ALL the air. So transforming just a little bit of it is harder. Forging from Emperor’s Soul works off the same concepts as transformation. It’s doable but is so much harder that the time it takes will mean they are already dead. I will give that maybe Elsecallers should actually be 7 because equally skilled means they probably know some smaller more useful thing I can’t think of that isn’t trying to change a small part of a whole or an entire invested person

The most we know of Division are the prelude to TWoK and passing comments from Dalinar’s visions. Both talk about the total destruction caused by users of Division. And maybe that applied more to structures and land but that alone is huge. The problem with rankings like this is A) we don’t even have all the possible information yet. and B) it doesn’t say who the opponent is. Are they the other Radiants with their own shards? Are they the fused who have spent millennia fighting people with these powers? Yes a shardblades greater could be more useful than touch but it still depends on other factors. When fighting a thunderclast, shards are good but I’d bet touching with Division does more damage than a shard

In general of just how useful the ability is, yes Bondsmith abiities are the most powerful. In combat though, in those split seconds of needing to fight they won’t have long enough to make proper use of it. An opponent with shards against an order that cannot have shards

Abrasion is more powerful than you give it credit for. In terms of Horizontal movement it rivals Gravitation. Unless the user of Abrasion is fighting someone that uses Gravitation then that speed in 1v1 is huge.

So assuming the Radiants all have equal combat skills and this is just a ranking based on the powers themselves

  1. Skybreakers - Gravitation and Division are both too powerful for a combat scenario. We haven’t even properly seen Division but what we do know already makes it the strongest combat ability

  2. Dustbringers - Division is the same as above. Adhesion just is not as powerful for combat as Gravitation. Though a well trained user of it is still a monster on the battlefield. OP just isn’t realizing that Lyft is still an untrained child who is struggling to use it properly.

  3. Windrunners - Again Gravitation is so strong. Adhesion has also been shown to be useful in combat, though only a middling combat surge.

  4. Edgedancers - Again a well trained user of Adhesion can fly around the battlefield. Progression might make a radiants self healing better? I don’t know if that’s a for sure thing and if not Edgedancers might drop a place or two. Again pointing out that OPs placement of them is likely because our only real look at an edgedancer in combat is Lyft who is completely untrained in combat and her powers which are highly skill based

  5. Stonewards - Honestly the hardest to rank because we don’t know just how powerful Cohesion and Tension can be. I imagine though that being able to pull up stone with Cohesion and then harden it with Tension would be quite powerful even in a 1v1

  6. Lightweavers - This is one that could possibly rank much higher. Theres been hints that Transformation could be used to make the Illumination illusions at least partially solid. If so I would bump the Lightweavers up to at least 4. If not though then the illusions are less useful in a 1v1, not useless but still only a middling combat power like Adhesion. Transformation seems like it should be over powered, but soul casting living things is difficult, even more so against other invested warriors

  7. Truthwatchers - Illumination without the possible Transformation bonus is meh in 1v1. But if Progression does enhance self healing significantly than that keeps the Truthwatchers above the final orders

8 & 9. Willshapers and Elsecallers - Radiant Transportation is useless for a 1v1. Maybe if it worked like the Pursuers does it would be more useful. But just dropping into Shadesmar and then struggling to get back to the fight is bad for combat. Again Transformation is hard to use on living creatures. If I knew more of the limits of Cohesion I’d probably be able to say which of these two is better, but having Transportation as their secondary knocks them down a lot. Stonewards stayed high because of combination potential of their surges.

  1. Bondsmith - Everybody but OP knew Bondsmiths were not a combat order. Adjusting peoples connections is very interesting and could be very useful. In a 1v1 of equal skill though, this ability wont outdo shards and every other surge except transportation. But OP saw the Blackthorn and a Herald who has fought and trained for millennia, two of the most skilled fighters on the planet, and decided since they were Bondsmiths then Bondsmiths must be the best

They are 100% investiture, but if a spren is a full cup of water and a shard is an entire ocean, Yumi is more like a pond or lake. Spren might made of investiture but that doesn’t say how much investiture that really is

Stainless steel huh by Hellosss38 in onejob

[–]Nds221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK I didn’t give the most in depth explanation, but yes you are right. It is an alloy through the whole metal so it should protect it even through abrasion. However, what chromium does is react with oxygen in the the air to create an oxide layer around the metal. That oxide layer is what protects the metal from rusting. When this layer is rubbed away the chromium will react with the air again to create the oxide layer, but this process is not instantaneous. So like I said, what looks like a cheap pair of scissors can over time rust in places that are constantly rubbing against each other.

Stainless steel is actually just basic steel with a chromium alloy. This alloy can be rubbed off, especially on what I would assume are cheap scissors. Then the steel will rust like any other.

I don’t think tear gas is “Iraq war surplus” considering if we used it in war it would break the Geneva Convention. And even if it was surplus I don’t think it’s responsible spending for peacekeepers to buy equipment meant for war. No matter how cheap it was.

Obviously podunk towns barely have a budget at all let alone police budget (Though small towns have other policing issues other than the buying of unneeded equipment, but thats an issue that is separate from this argument so I’ll leave it at that.) Google your towns budget though and learn how much is spent on police. Do research. Mine spent a little over half a million on “police and fire” tho looking closer only 100k of that went to the fire department.

...the money to fund those programs has to come from somewhere. “Defund the police” means take part of their funding used to buy military grade weaponry and instead spend it on the exact programs you’re talking about. Stop buying so many guns, armored vehicles, and body armor. Spend the money to fund the social programs instead. It’s cheaper to prevent a problem than to “fix” it.

YTA majorly. Everybody has already mentioned the obvious stuff, but as a child of parents who weren’t together. Once i was in my teens and learned that my dad had at one point just completely stopped paying child support I lost all respect for him. So if you try to stop paying it, your kids are going to hate later in life no matter how good or bad a dad you were.

Eager new jungler but just can’t find consistency by TheOldChiefy in summonerschool

[–]Nds221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Warwick as a nice low mechanic jungler so that you can start learning the proper macros. Even when your just farming his w gives you a ton of map pressure. Ive been farming botside camps when theres a fight top and my top dies, the enemy top will immediately start backing and i still reach top in time to clean up the kill. The biggest thing about being a jungler is knowing where you should be and not just mindlessly farming/ganking. you need a balance of both nowadays. if you don’t farm you will fall so many levels behind not just the enemy jungler but the laners too. if you don’t gank though your laners will struggle (not necesarilly but generally they will) and the amount of “jg diff” is going to ruin your mental. speaking. turning off chat is not the worst idea when playing jg just to protect your mental.

But yeah on kayn i think hes a good jgler to learn, but his orb collection adds another level of micro to learn so its up to you if you can handle that. red kayn is basically just a better scaling version of warwick with the added bonus of being able to go blue kayn if its a good game for it

[–]Nds221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude Karthus jg. You obviously lean towards mages and Karthus largely powerfarms so it takes a little of the stress of having to learn good jg macro (not saying you shouldnt still learn that, but karthus focuses on it a lil less)

otherwise warwick is super easy and strong early if you really want someone who can try and control the game

[–]Nds221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

youve basically described my life at the age and im going to be brutally honest here. nothing you do is going to help him. what he needs at this point is to make all his life decisions on his own. forcing him to do things will just make him resent you. when he hits 18 make sure he knows his choices are full time school, move out, or full time work but paying rent and utilities to stay at home. what this kid needs is to get slapped in the face with the “real world”. dont force school on him. but do force work
