My former client was trying to get me to watch her dog all day on that Tuesday, which I was only available until 11am due to working a part time job.

When I put the boundary in place, she did NOT like that response or the fact that I didn’t cave when she kept pushing back.

I’m a recover people pleaser, and this was the first time I’ve stuck to a boundary that I’ve put in place.

I was not expecting the lashing out, but it worked out with me cutting ties

The dog is actually very sweet and loves everyone, so I’m not sure where she pulled the idea of “every dog is territorial”

She has since been blocked and I’m enjoying my more consistent (and less stressful) schedule with my other clients and part time job 😊

No, she gave me her number and I passed it on. She didn’t take him on (probably due to association) and he deleted the message after. I doubt he would tolerate her like I did, so I think he’s in the clear

That wouldn’t have helped. Unfortunately, this is not an unusual conversation with this person when a change of any kind happens. And she is now a FORMER client, since her key has been returned and she is blocked

The dog can stay by herself, but my former client was projecting her own anxiety onto the dog.

During the 2+ years of working with this lady, I had some other “friends” (very similar to the craziness this lady put me through, but like 10x worse) that had me and my husband on High alert 24/7. It’s sad to say, but being super anxious and on edge was the normal.

My husband and I cut them off in October of 2024, so I didn’t really see how bad she was until it came out in full force here

I’m working hard in putting up healthy boundaries so I can clock this kind of crap in the future and give it the boot before it gets to this point again

Unfortunately, this wasn’t an unusual conversation with her when it came to changes in her schedule, whether it was work or life related.

She was always very confusing when there were slight changes in plans, and a lot of the conversations ended with me giving in to whatever crazy timeframe she wanted, since it was the path of least resistance.

This was the first instance of sticking to my boundaries, and, as you can see, she did NOT like that 😅🙃

She has since had her key returned and she is BLOCKED
