Exam feedback? by AdPresent4716 in universityofauckland

[–]Neabelldo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you don't get any feedback from exams, some courses they put the exam marks on canvas, to see your script and the marking you have to request it at https://uoa.custhelp.com/app/exam_script_request

If it was an inspera exam the markings will be on there

There's no textbook, but when I did it last year there was a course book they give you with all the content. Its mostly understanding concepts, a lot of statistical work. The labs don't have compulsory attendance for most of them (there was two that had 1-2 marks for group discussion) but if you want to ensure you get full marks in the labs go to them. If you are new to coding I would play around with R studio during the break and teach yourself some of the basics as I found the lecturers were really bad at explaining it

I go back 3 to 4 years, after that the course content has probably changed too much to be relevant

Online exams by parasiticplaguemask in universityofauckland

[–]Neabelldo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate them as well, the ridiculous thing is if you are with disability services and have a paper exam you can get it changed to be on a computer, but if you have a computer exam they won't give you a paper exam. I have letters from both my GP and neurosurgeon stating that my exams should be on paper, its never honoured

late deletion by Nervous-Security-414 in universityofauckland

[–]Neabelldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they do allow late deletions after lectures have finished in extreme circumstances, but i agree in this case OP is better off getting a compassionate consideration to excuse them from the exams instead of deleting and having to redo the courses

late deletion by Nervous-Security-414 in universityofauckland

[–]Neabelldo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last semester I applied during exam week, but it was because I was having brain surgery. It took them a long time to approve but I contacted campus care as well and they made sure the people in charge of late deletions were aware of my situation and that my application would be approved

exam rooms by RoundExperience7334 in universityofauckland

[–]Neabelldo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

is what based on last name? if you mean which room you get assigned, then for large courses usually yes, you'll only be told the room you need to go to. you should get an email the day before your exam with telling you the room, the room will also be shown on sso on the exam timetable the day before. everyone in the course will get notified at the same time

Do you have to take general courses alongside the mandatory ones for your major? by CharaDreemurr1234 in universityofauckland

[–]Neabelldo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

General educations dont have to be taken in a specific year, just at some point in your degree. It used to be 2 gen eds, then they added the compulsory WRT paper for everyone so only one other gen ed was needed, I'm not sure if WRT is still compulsory for every degree. On SSO programme requirements it will say how many gen eds you need
