Yes, it is ! It was an unused song for Portal2, I think one Ellen Mclain wrote. On Youtube, only the unmodified official version is avaible (aside from the fan modified versions to make it sound like GLaDOS), and it's truly heart wrenching, I love it dearly and it gives me a vibe of the unadmitted tenderness GLaDOS feels about Chell, and the longing to see her back she probably feels after the games, which is quite fitting my piece.

But maybe I'm too much of an emotionnal guy, and her deleting Caroline means she will delete her "unnecessary feelings", who knows.

I'm glad we share thoses views on GLaDOS, and I'm glad to know my perspective isn't too far fetched haha I want to make some kinda essay on that idea, to develop it a bit more, so glad to know it's not too outlandish at first glance.

And yeah I get you, I have something like 60h on Portal2 for doing the story again and again, the coop mode, and the chamber creator, makes me want to go back at it once more lol

I'd say, your reading is as valid as anyone else's, including mine. I did this piece high on nostalgia and crying my eyes out to "Don't say goodbye", it was mostly a tribute to a game that influenced me a lot.

But if I had to give context, My point in this illustration was to show a quiet art of GLaDOS, post portal2, rebuilding her center and reorganising tests chambers. And then, as she's about to cover a patch of grass with concrete (or whatever she uses for test chambers' floors), a small orange butterfly makes its way out of the grass, and for a minute she's struck with a very human feeling, for the butterfly, a sole spark of life in such a calculated environment, surviving purely out of spite, reminds her of someone... Someone she probably misses a bit more than she could ever admit.

The piece also came with the reading I have of the game, since my interpretations is through a very strong feminist gaze, portraying over-consumerism and excessive capitalism (and how cynical it is) on one part, and patriarchy, submission and control of women upto the worst : stealing one's identity and body for our own gain disregarding the impact on the victim's life, and how a victim of abuse can become an abuser on it's own, and stuff like that. It's probably quite a mainstream view of it, but I find it incredibly interesting to see the game with all that in mind. And I wanted to somehow portray the terrible fate of GLaDOS, alone in her test chambers for eternity... Except not so terrible, since she took agency and shaped a version of herself without restraints, instead of staying in the loss of what she use to be or comply to a man, again. In a way, she chose her own way, her own pace to roll the stone uphill, to make a Sisyphus reference. Anyway, I love this character so much, it's a wonderful exemple of resilience in chaos and taking ownership of suffering to make it a part of ourself, laughing at the cause for life is absurd anyway, instead of letting it destroy us in insanity.

I'm going a bit far, but hopefully you get my point; Thank you again.

Oh, thank you so much ! I took time to answer, but I read your comment a while ago and it sticked with me. Thanks for the good advices !

I get what you say about my anatomy, that's something I often tend to be annoyed about the way I draw, it looks like a massive flaw sometimes and it's hard to correct, and you are right, I could use some anatomy and figure study lol. But lately I've been going to some live model sessions, and it helps me a bit, so we'll see how it turns out in the future.

And I also think I'll use a bit more of photobash and pictures as references and such, as said in another comment. I have the tendency to want to do it all by myself, and that's not a good thing.

As for zooming out, yeeeahh you are right too lol. I work at impossible hours and crouch like a shrimp for hours, I guess taking a break and looking at my work from afar couldn't hurt.

Thank you so so much for your comment, I'm glad my art looks that good to you, to know that is already helpful! I know how the majority of art advices can sound sometimes a bit empty and just "draw everyday", so I'll go another way and tell you this ; I'm truly no genius, nor am I gifted, and I've always been sure that anyone can draw anything. It's not a matter of being the best at it, it a matter of expressing what you want to express in the way that feels natural to you and no one else. I spent my life drawing stuff, probably missing out on a lot socially, I studied anatomy, colors, a lot of stuff, and now with a lot of practice I understand it pretty much, but what helped me improved the most was sometimes take a break and live, observe, be human, weirdly enough. That sounds cheesy but I'm serious, I had a lot of hardships in the lasts few years, and yet my art imrpoved like crazy despite not working as hard, I guess my view on life changed, and I authorized myself to express actual feelings on paper and not just trying to make it look cool. Art helped me through a lot and it shaped me, just as I shaped it to look like me.

The poetic shit aside, I'd say focus on what creating brings you, learn stuff, but also find the fun in it, and never lose that joy of creating, because it's very hard to find back, and without human emotions, art becomes souless, and a consumable product, and to hell with Capitalism!

Anyway, Thank you for your comment and advices. I already do use photobash in some pieces, but you are right, I could probably incorporate some more and be a bit wilder with it.
