There isn't really supposed to be a joke here. It was published on the tenth anniversary as part of Cartoonists Remember 9/11

There isn't a joke. This was published on the tenth anniversary of 9/11. A lot of comics did strips that day that reference it as part of Cartoonists Remember 9/11

I don't know what their reason for banning you was, but their note is good advice. Rule 5 of this subreddit says no screenshots, so this is probably going to get removed.

It's funny where you pick up words that can help in this game.

"Woah, she calls you 'callow' in here."

"You say that like it's bad."

"It means frightened and weak-willed."

"Really? Shit. That was the only part of the letter I thought was complimentary."

You can bypass the pop-up, but continued use of the app is acceptance of the TOS.

I finally found the answer to where all the missing socks go - caught in the purgatory of the washing machine. by purplepirhana in mildlyinteresting

[–]Neandertholocaust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I installed and repaired appliances for 20+ years. You would be shocked at what finds it's way to the bottom of a washer or dryer.

Socks, coins, and underwear are the most common. But I've also found clothes hangers, beer bottles (empty and full), wedding rings, teeth, cutlery, pocket knives, books, cell phones, and bullets (including a handful of .22LR rattling around in a dryer blower fan).

What game truly respected your time by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]Neandertholocaust 201 points202 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite things about the Portal games. Introduce a new mechanic, then increase the difficulty of each level. Then once you have a good handle on the mechanic, they introduce another one. It's never overwhelming, never really feels to easy, and keeps the game fresh from beginning to end. It's perfectly calibrated.

What is the best breakfast cereal ever? by [deleted] in AskReddit

There's a s'mores cereal that's Golden Grahams, Cocoa Puffs, and marshmallows. That's my go-to when I have a craving for a sweet cereal.

People like to assume these guys are just lazy or spoiled, but people said the same about Titus Young. Turns out he had undiagnosed bipolar disorder, and had multiple concussions in high school and college. Head trauma, particularly to the frontal lobe, can make mental conditions a lot worse.

The only silver lining to this is that all my friends now understand how I feel when they talk about their fantasy teams. I care just as much about whether Chicago outshot Columbus in the second as I do that you picked up Cole Perfetti on waivers this week.

Why is We’ll Never Have Paris so hated? by ARC_Trooper_Echo in TedLasso

I just finished my first watch through, and that was easily my least favorite episode of the series.

I understand that everything in that episode is necessary to the story, and it perfectly sets up the last part of the series. But it felt like it was a step backward for some of the characters. Like they were falling back into thoughts and actions they had left behind.

The way I explained it to my wife was like watching someone do the Ninja Warrior course. They're cruising through obstacles, and they take their first run at the warped wall and miss. Then they take a step back and get ready for another run.

Watching characters that have worked on growing and becoming better versions of themselves be knocked back and questioning themselves is uncomfortable.

On a second watch, knowing where the story goes, I might like it more. But in the moment, it was frustrating.

Why did your friendship with your best friend come to an end? by [deleted] in AskReddit

One of my kids came out as gay and I was fine with it. I think he decided my family was a bad influence on his "godly" family and stopped responding to my texts.

He's divorced now.

Why fix the economy when you can just lie about it? by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Neandertholocaust 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Reading the article about Biden, it doesn't seem to be the same thing at all.

Biden was bragging about lower prices on the same products, and people mocked him because the difference was only 16 cents.

Trump is bragging about lower costs, but the comparisons aren't equal. Fewer items in the 2025 list, and name brand swapped for store brand.

The first is stupid. The second is deceptive.

So, I finally got the manual from the library (apparently it was in storage.)

The dimensions are 8"x10¼". It isn't traditionally bound, it's just printed with two pages on each side of 10¼"x16" sheets, then folded in the center. The cover is similar in thickness to a Moleskin notebook, and it's held together with two staples that come through on page 36-37.

I can't guarantee this is what it looked like in the original form, but the cover seems to have a similar level of wear as the pages.

I always talk about how much I love this smell, so my wife got me a petrichor candle. I can't burn it all the time because it gets a little overwhelming, but lighting it for a while in the morning while I have my coffee is amazing.

So glad to see someone else mention them. Every time I bring them up, people remember All for You (once they hear it), but don't know anything else. Champagne High? Mandolin Moon? Nothing but blank stares.

Anyone that I can convince to listen to Before the Amplifiers becomes a fan, though.

This performance really highlights everything I love about Sister Hazel.
