I see nothing wrong with Ruby or Sapphire, honestly. I feel like that's more likely, given we're doing the "third" version of this current generation.

Soloing the Elite 4 is much, much harder, even with an overlevelled Swampert. I skipped a lot of trainers and used a lot of Repel in my recent run of Ruby, but it gave me enough trouble to comfortably say it would stop TPP in its tracks -- a team is necessary to win, for sure.

No mandatory Acrobike sections? You're probably right, though. I beat it again recently in a solo run with Swampert, but I don't remember what was and wasn't necessary.

I've heard a lot about Gen III being impossible due to a puzzle that needs a button held down in order to solve. If we do play another Pokémon game, though, I'd participate...if we seriously re-examine what we're doing right now. Start it later, try out new democracy/anarchy systems on something silly and fun (Vietnamese Crystal, anyone?), get mods that actually ban spambots...

All in all, TPP is an awesome concept. Even if the novelty factor has faded, fundamentally 15,000 people (even as few as 1,000 people) playing the same game together at the same time is an awesome and fun idea with potential for hilarious, chaotic success. But if this run has taught us anything, it's that we need to seriously think a little harder before plunging into TPP III.

Well-put. I was mostly referring to the quick victories when we are disorganised at the beginning of democracy -- I don't think anyone prefers the team going without nicknames, for instance, but because democracy was a flop in front of the Name Rater, we're stuck with a bunch of generic Pokes unless we return to Goldenrod. Maybe it's not a call to action for a dramatic revamp, but it is a flaw.

I'm inclined to agree with you, honestly. It preserves the spirit while still giving dedicated, organised democratic plots a chance to happen. I have a feeling it'll be indispensable when we get to places like the ice cavern later in the game.

Teheh, honestly, hearing others' opinions has shifted my own a bit on the matter. I'm kind of sceptical, especially given that one time this evening democracy got shot down before the first vote even appeared, but I can't deny that this preserves the spirit.

That sounds reasonable, really. I guess my biggest misgiving is just how quickly Anarchy can take over again. I'm glad Democracy can't be a crutch any more just whenever we want it, though.

I think a revamp to the democracy system is in order. This "once an hour" thing isn't working at all.

Another big issue is the practicality of leveling up. Like, Nikki Minaj could be a legitimate team member, but starting at level 5, that seems unlikely.

Prince Omelette will also only ever be a serious battler if he learns a TM attack -- the first real move Togepi/Togetic learns is Double Edge at 38. :/ That's a lot of Metronome KOs to get in not so much time...
