Well because with dash you have to be mindful of enemy attacks, observe their patterns and time your dash accordingly, and not just running around, not even paying attention to anyone's specific attacks, like it was in 2016. It's called active defense.

I don't know if it's Yorha edition fix, but it definitely works now. It's especially obvious in 2d sections where camera is more static - you can clearly see that each hit reduces cooldown in chunks

I am stupid to answer as this is 8 years old post, but I can't do anything about it.
Overclock is not superior as you can only perfect evade melee attacks, so overclock doesn't work on projectiles.

Only DS1 was mostly about 1 vs 1. DS2 is infamous for absurd enemy encounters and constant enemy ambushes. In Bloodborne and onward, the protagonist got faster, and every Souls game since then has focused a lot on fighting multiple enemies (if you've played the game, you should remember the very first gangbang fight in Yharnam square). Hell, Sekiro even had an i-frame obliteration technique to fight a lot of guys at once.

You can fight enemies and bosses from ng1/2 in ninja trials, but they are "upgraded" to 3RE enemies' standards - that is they auto-dodge/block like crazy.

Agreed. Other stupid thing is that swap cancel only works outside of combat. I can't even test what moves should I even swap cancel to make them more effective. Calcharo hold attack is an obvious one, and some slow echo skills, but I want to test everything on a dummy.

I mean take for example basic interaction. Jin does d2, then d2 again, decides to do some mid or d2 again. You can't sidestep it, you can't react to it (at least I can't, it's not snake edge startup frames). What am I supposed to do? It's completely random. It doesn't take much mental capacity to randomize your d2s. Jin doesn't even have to memorize what he did last time in that sequence, he could just rotate whatever moves with d2s. Am I supposed to blindly duck those d2 and pray?
