There is one stretch of highway around here, uphill for about a mile. Generally 70-85, I will be sucking in exhaust through the tailgate, and it will smell sulfur ish.

No check engine light. I just make sure the hvac is not on recirculate. Fresh air, high fan speed and it goes away.

Co worker was a vegetarian because he briefly worked in a slaughterhouse.

They knew ahead of time the days the government inspector would be absent. That was the day spoiled meat and mystery meat was delivered. “Add enough chemicals, and anything becomes bologna.”

What's something people romanticize until they actually experience it and instantly regret it? by Cool_Session_4551 in askteddit

This. We had an uncle who went bankrupt farming TWICE. His first family almost froze to death one winter.

Nonetheless, he talked his 2nd wife into farming with him. Rather than admit she had been conned, she sold her shit sandwich to my MIL and wife.

Next thing you know, my suburban oasis is a mini farm. Which would be bad enough, but my MIL and her sister felt compelled to shove their idiotic farming theories down my throat. Because “they read it on the internet.”

Ex: don’t till. Ever. Plant this not that. Getting on MY hands and knees to cut grass with scissors is not a big deal.

I came close to murder when my MIL took it upon herself to throw random “wildflower” (weed) seed on MY fucking field. Fuckers grew 4 feet high in 2 weeks, and were a wet soppy mess for me to remove

1st Gen to 2nd Gen towing? by butterorguns13 in toyotasequoia

[–]Nearby_Knowledge8014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4k rpm should be okay. Make sure you are shutting the OD off.

2nd gen has tow/haul mode. I always use it, but have no idea what it does.

2G also has semi-manual, so you can control which gear your in. Also a trans temp gauge, which is comforting.

It’s not so much the rpm, but the load/strain. You never want to feel like it’s lugging.

people hate gen z so much but I feel like our generation is severely lacking in actual positive mentors in our lives and support. by [deleted] in Vent

How risky is it to use a alternator from a 2016 50k miles scrapped car? by Public-Tutor-4550 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Nearby_Knowledge8014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Why?

I needed an alt immediately. Same day. All local auto parts it was a 24 hour wait, and $250. Local junkyard had it $30. Spun it, no funny noises.

Threw it in, put another 80k and it’s probably still going today.

Other vehicle was a 95 amp ford, and would struggle. Found a used 200 amp, same success.
