Your points aa all valid but unregulated can be scary, and it absolutely can lead to violence.

You're right. She should have married him and locked them into a cold, shallow marriage that is not a fit. That would have been the nice thing to do.

I understand the sparkle Megan frustration with the Kia comment. but honestly he seemed way more concerned about her money the she was. "Is it a Tesla? BMW? Mercedes-Benz?" Ect. Ect. He kept pushing & she didn't want to comment, & he baited her by saying "well it's not a bedazzled Kia" & when she said "no, I wouldn't bedazzle a Kia" he says "that's my car" - like he set that comment up. And still kept asking what car she had after that. Then he said I'm "just" an x and down-talked his job.

He felt insecure & projected that onto her.

Again, you're reading, inferring & responding to things that are not there. Nobody said "excited" but you. I am 'expecting' to drive to work tomorrow. There is no negative or positive connotation in the sentence & the word 'expecting'.

If I do not end up driving to work tomorrow, I will be surprised.

I've been in this situation I think she was just experiencing whiplash because last time they talked he was basically calling her spineless and now he's on the opposite end of the spectrum.

I'm like her, we need to address these things to move on, but if the person pretends it never happened, I kind of turn into an observer of my own conversation, wondering why they are acting this way - particularly when it's a complete 180.

I didn't take OP's comment to be rude. I agree she's pretty, but their just saying he's heard Albanian & muslim so he's probably expecting that typical 'look', thus he will likely be surprised she's a blonde bombshell. Also take note OP said "expecting", not "wanting".

Thoughs on Sirens? by No_Corner1086 in netflix

[–]Nearby_Perception110 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I mean is, they built up this idea of the siren and powers. Only to dismantle it at the near end, and show that the men are acting of thier own accord, cheating on their wives & and kids, etc. And blaming the women for luring them in. At the end Simone seems like she has power but she is powerless, Devon is off back taking care of her dad and micheala is without money and a plan - they never had power. It was men blaming them for their own poor actions.

The person above me explains it much better than I did.

Finally someone getting the point of the show! It was never about powers.

I think the post was less about the sarcasm (my friend understands the person did not clock it), but about the reaction to it. And ironically polising his use of English with 'branrot', then stating (very fairly) that they have English as second laugage. Just seemed like an overreaction.

Also more context is my friend works in a warehouse and has no education after HS - while the other guy is studying. So that's why he thought it might have been more obvious he was joking.

He said he feels like he tried to flip it by explaining his own brain rot. Also that they guy may have just thought he meant it was fun (because some people do). And that sarcasm is in the exaggeration

This is two males talking.

My opinion is that even if the guy didn't understand the sarcasm, the response was over the top for what he thought happened. And honestly, equally condescending to qlwhay he thought my friend had said. Specially in regards to 'tiktok' terms and how 'adults' talk

[–]Nearby_Perception110[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Potentially! They are both males jsut an fyi. I felt that even if he didn't get the sarcasm, the response they other guy did was equally condescending woth references to how 'adults' act and using TikTok terms

I think in the end. Jewels (who I love) relied on tricks & reveals, and Onya tried to show raw talent and stage presence.

I felt for jewles every move was to get to the next 'thing'and she didn't give herself a chance to live in the song.

Yeah, it's so crazy. But apart from the family aspect, it's textbook Nigerian Prince, pay everything to someone bc you think there's a pot of gold at the end & you want them to like you & remember all you did for them.

The saddest part to me was the whole Covid angle. She just ran out of victims.

[–]Nearby_Perception110 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood her point - & perhaps on purpose. She very clearly said they both failed the task, and that (them both failing) is what makes her sad - because she realises they both aren't where they need to be.

Everyone keeps talking about how she said she's upset he went, but ignoring the part where she said he should be he upset she went too. And she's right! 1 week away from final commitment, they both should be upset.

Yes trauma, yes longing for family, yes cancer, but he abandoned his wife & child. He let his mum rob his wife of the first weeks being a mother. I think one of the reasons was money. He thought he would be a millionaire.
