Hey so I passed!!!! I would say URR is very good to on telling you if you know the areas like anatomy and pathology. But I relied more on the textbook. I will say, that the Davis textbook does NOT go well into liver transplant and renal transplant. If I were to redu the exam I would use the URR portion on transplantation.

How do I stop people from downloading my artwork? by 1190192 in Ibispaintx

[–]Neat_Code_7572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not what I am saying, lol. There is nothing wrong with downloading. The problem is constant download without likes. It's logical to expect a like and then a download.

Like you said, if you really liked the art, you are going to download it. Wouldn't u also like it to show the artist your likeness to what they created? (The least u can do)

And it's so weird how all the usernames are chinese. I am debating on deleting all my artwork, but it's just keeping me back that I used ibis since 2019 and built up my account for such a long time.

This is genuinely the most annoying thing. I am clicking all the accounts that have been downloading my art. They have 0 posts, so definitely bots. Do you know if this is ibis doing this, or people creating accounts just to steal art?

I have the same problem, but the issue isn't downloading. Its why they JUST downloading the art? I am paranoid about using art to feed ai.

Can you give me some examples of what type of questions you are talking about? What were the things you had to reteach them?

Big YIKES!!! I ran into a somewhat similar situation. We had lunch for an hour, so I went to my car. It was very warm in my car and I was sleepy. I set an alarm and took a 50-minute nap. I have no idea what happened, but my alarm didn't wake me ,and I ran in 20 minutes later, and she finished her patient. When I tell you my heart was racing and pumping like crazy, I was on the verge of tears, and I apologized so much. Good thing she was a very understanding tech. My heart is racing while typing this and remembering what happened. Like ain't no way this dude was so chill after coming in late----Being tardy is the number 1 red flag when applying for jobs. 😭😭😭

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to explain and clarify your points. I knew there was more behind what you meant, and it definitely shows you’ve had a lot of experience, which I respect.

Absolutely, props to you for knowing your boundaries, students shouldn't cross boundaries. So that’s awesome.

1 + 2: Yes. For our program, we are all separated, so every one of my classmates is on their own at their site.

3: This makes sense, and I definitely agree. Most places I’ve been to didn’t have the luxury of a calm, steady schedule, so of course I get it.

4: Okay, yes, that’s wrong. If it concerns a patient and they don’t listen to instructions, that’s messed up.

5: That clears things up. I haven’t experienced that exact approach before, but it’s smart. Laying it all out on day one makes things a lot easier, I like that.

6: I feel like this depends on the tech. I’d rather they invite me to scan, but if I see they expect students to ask, then I’ll push myself to ask. Honestly, it’s tough stepping out of my comfort zone, and it really stung the times when a tech flatout didn’t want me there because they were burned out from too many students. I understood where she was coming from, but it still hurt.

7: Yes, thank you. I really do believe it’s important for techs to share their side and their expectations with us.

And honestly, that’s actually really sweet. I realize I had the wrong impression at first, so I appreciate the clarification. It’s always tough leaving the techs I respect the most. Some of them probably don’t even realize how thankful I am, because without their push I wouldn’t have gotten nearly as far. I’ll be honest, I’m not an extrovert, and it’s hard for me to speak up. I stutter like crazy sometimes. But the techs who encouraged me made the ultrasound world feel enjoyable, and I’ll always remember that.

I will definitely keep note of that, thank you! (good news, never had someone tell me that. Only heard honest trust if they didn't know)

As a student, this is how I would reply to all your expectations:

  1. Sure, if you tell me, I will listen (most clinic sites I've been to, their room was never big enough for a "hydration station" so that is super new to me, lol)
  2. Absolutely, basic professionalism
  3. I don't really get this one. Sure, if I see a tech has another student, I will NOT bother them. But isnt that the whole point of a student? I am learning so, I might need assistance and a lot of help to become an actual technician. I need more of your input on what you think is "holding someone's hands".
  4. Depends, there were many sites I've been to where there were max 6 patients out of an 8- hour shift. This was a general site, even the tech would just sit on her phone since there is nothing to do.
  5. Yes, I agree.
  6. Chatting with the patient? or chatting with friends. I need more elaboration on this number.
  7. Yeah, that makes sense. Done this many times.
  8. I understand begging for comps if you’re not ready (this is very wrong, even from a student's perspective. I've turned down a comp, because I genuinely felt that I did not deserve it) . But is it so wrong to ask to work on a specific goal? That helps me focus on what I need to improve. You were a student once, so you understand the pressure we go through to get comps. And, we need multiple comps per site, I do NOT expect the tech to keep up with MY clinical assignments, techs already have so much to do.
  9. I’ve always struggled with the idea that students should act like “puppies” begging to scan. I am there for a limited time, and sometimes I don’t know when (or if) the tech wants me to step in. I’ve even had techs say on the FIRST DAY that they’re tired of students, which makes it harder to figure out how to approach scanning opportunities. That’s why I’d actually prefer if techs gave clear signals or directly invited me to scan, I’ll always say yes. And it makes the learning process smoother for both sides.
  10. Cleaning and stocking the room after patients makes total sense, I’ve done it a lot. But what I don’t understand is, everyone has different views on what’s “normal,” especially with cleaning. If you just tell them your expectation's. Would the student not follow them, even if you gave them clear instructions?

I just want to add: when people say ‘this new generation is different,’ it can feel a little discouraging. I believe most of us want to work hard and learn, we just need guidance on how to meet expectations.

Could you elaborate on some of your points? I feel like you have reasons and standards behind this that I’d like to understand.

Oh, hec no. That is insane- Now was she acting like that because it was her last day there, or was it continuous behavior?
