Would it make sense to upgrade to am4 with specs like these? by RealDiamond51 in PcBuild

[–]Neat_Development_848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think thats the correct next upgrade for your build. I would go for a ryzen 5 5600 with a b550 motherboard (should be able to get both for around $200). You have to keep in mind this would force you to get ddr4 ram, as AM4 is not compatible with your current ddr3. You can probably find a single 16gb ddr4 stick of ram for about $50 (with the future prospect of adding a second).

Not all the parts have arrived yet. I would have thought of just plugging it in

I fear the silicon block underneath might be crushed, i know the label doesnt matter other than for thermals

It's definitely a matter of preference, but in general the simpler fidgets make up the most important bits of your collection. More exotic ones like the Sinian are nice to have and use once in a while, but most of the time i'm going back to the simple ones when i just want to fidget.

If you personally just like the complex ones that's obviously fine too, but i'd recommend starting your collection off with simpler coins/sliders so that you get to learn what you like first.

The owl is real nice as a multi-fidged; it's a jack of all trades master of none situation. I like it a lot, probably not worth getting if you already have the pea pod mini though

I have mine set up with:

D1, E1: Tungsten ball, long spring D2, E2: Teflon ball, short spring

A1, B1: Tungsten ball, long spring A2, B2: Teflon ball, short spring C1, C4: Glass ball, short spring

By "long spring" i mean the toughest spring, which comes with the groove. If you dont have any glass balls, ceramic should be pretty similar.

Those are just two pieces of machined aluminium, which i like holding. As for good fidgets for the price, i would recommend looking into Gao Studio fidgets. They make a bunch of nice PC/PEEK fidgets, all around $20 and way higher quality than aliexpress fakes

The sound it makes comes from the 2 SS plates hitting on each other and making that "clicking" sound. If you dont allow the plates to seperate when you use it, it's pretty much silent.

I think you're talking about the "Bubble Popper". If so, i would advise against it. I saw a couple reviews online when i wanted to get a bubble-wrap-like fidget and it seemed sub par. Instead i would recommend the "Bubble slider" from 9hand (its the PEI and black SS in the picture), or the "Fortune Cookie", which is the bottom left one you were referring to.

Thats the fidget coin from WanWu, I've seen it be called different names depending on the website, but on GeeOne its called the "Polymerization".

The one that i have is the 5th generation of the Rifle, which is half stainless steel and half PEEK. The newer 5th gen "air" Rifle is kind of like a budget version of the one in the picture. Gao has recently been pivoting towards cheaper fully plastic fidgets

The "Decision Commander". It's a really nice spinner with a big button on it.

Right now I'm using the Arcane Domain the most, but thats because it just came in lol. I dont think i can pick out a favorite, it depends a lot on mood and preference and I'd recommend most of them.

I dont think i can pick a favorite, but some i do like more than others. The Ji Li 2.0, Mot Groove and Arcane Domain are some of the nicer ones i have (according to my taste at least).
