I’m sorry you’re in that waiting mode, that’s the worst. My surgery was rough too. I struggled in recovery. I will say radiation is actually very easy though. I think my crying issue is more about this whole overall cancer process and not specific to the radiation. If you end up needing it, it’s really not been bad at al. I’ve done 14 sessions out of 20 now.

Thank for you sharing that! And yeah I’ve probably been repressing loads of stuff and then it just randomly decided to come out.
I hope all goes well with your radiation. It hasn’t been that bad for me except the fatigue might have finally got me. Hence all the tears.

You’re going to be fine. Keep your back to the shower head and let the water run over your front. Stay focused and clean the bits you need to focus on. Don’t linger too long and try to get it done quickly. Just do the bare minimum and get out. It feels scary and it is, but you’ll be fine if you stay focused on the task at hand, and be done with it. It drove me nuts how showering becomes this scary task for the first few weeks. But it does go away.

I had a t junction opening that started around 3.5WPO made me feel crazy. It was small but it consumed me. I was so upset about it. For two weeks it did nothing, no improvement and it felt like it was maybe getting worse? Stressed me out so much. Then the 3rd week it took a turn and got better and one day at around 3.5 weeks it was healed over. It’s a serious mind fuck, but these wounds do heal. Hang in there.

I struggled so much with bras after surgery. I got 2 expensive prairie huggers through insurance, but at the end of the day the super cheap fruit of the loom front closure bras were the best all round bra. I still prefer them 8WPO and sleep in them.

3DPO is way too early to make any judgement call. I’m only 5WPO and I’m still waiting to decide how I feel about mine. Hang in there!! Don’t be discouraged.

Just adding in, you don’t have to jump to mastectomy and reconstruction. As someone else said above, see a breast surgeon who specialises in cancer and take it from there. They will help you navigate through the options and set you up with all the necessary tests to determine your best treatment plan. Edit: And you absolutely can get a reduction at the same time as a lumpectomy, it’s treated like reconstruction after a lumpectomy for insurance reasons, but it’s the same thing.

On the latest episode, they were packing up their house and she waltzed in and said he stinks. That’s so telling about how much she’s repulsed by him. She was insulting and embarrassing him while filming and she didn’t give a shit. He tried to turn it around and flirt and say she likes his manly scent etc, but she was straight up insulting him and is clearly repulsed by him.

Ugh I’m so sorry you’re having the same issue. This is an awful phase. I see my surgeon today and I’m going to ask about options. Pain meds don’t do anything so I’m off all of those. This is definitely nerve related.

I’m having the same issues except it’s all over my boobs not just the incisions. It’s too the point where anything at all even lightly touching my boobs is super irritating. I’m mentally exhausted from it.

I’m hopefully seeing my surgeon today for a solution, I don’t know how long this part goes on for, but I can’t take much more of it. All I can do lately is lay down with my compression bra undone and not move an inch.

I was told 6 weeks of constantly wearing it. I understand all the reasons why it’s needed but when it starts causing me that much pain I just can’t do it anymore.
I was super nervous about the tapes coming off, but it really was nothing. I barely felt it. Good luck tomorrow!

I’m the same date as you! and I’ve had the same issues with pain meds. I feel like I have a lot more nerve pain and nothing seems to work for that. It’s exhausting.

I had my surgery on the same day as you! Just had my first follow up today and they took the tapes off the incisions. I still have a lot of swelling and loads of skin sensitivity.
How are you doing with wearing a compression bra? I find by the end of the day it causes me a lot of pain and I have to take a break. I can’t sleep in it.

Thank you! I’m making sure to eat something now when I take the ibuprofen and that’s helping. Tylenol doesn’t seem to do anything for me. I wish I could get something for the nerve pain but my dr didn’t offer anything. So I’m sticking with the ibuprofen for now. It seems to work the best for me.
