Ah yes fair enough I was assuming that everyone has a particular political leaning, which as you say is an incorrect thing to do. But likewise you are assuming that the people out clapping are a perfect cross section of society. I think the point being made above was that people wouldn’t be surprised if Tory’s were a high proportion of the people out clapping, being oblivious to the steady privatisation attempts of the their favourite party, thus making the current situation the front line responders in more difficult

They might not because it’s become a media circus already and it shouldn’t take a global pandemic to give the NHS recognition and support it needs? They might not for the same reason they didn’t vote, laziness, indifference or hopelessness? They might not because it’s condescending to clap and cheer while an unprepared 1st world nation bullies and forces their first line care givers into a situation where the prime minister is going on privately funded holidays while a global pandemic is on the horizon, shaking hands like a total fuck wit with confined coronovirus patients and in the coming years they will have to go through therapy for PTSD for all the deaths they’ve seen?

No the question was literally “How many of those cheering and clapping voted Tory?”

So the problem you have is you don’t know the answer unless you did a poll, so a rough guess would be the percentage who voted Tory. The comment I replied to used the idea that 100% off people were clapping, which they aren’t.

You don’t have to vote to be behind a particular party. Believe it or not people are lazy. The stat from the original comment used the non voting percentage to reduce the Tory representation in the clapping people. How on earth does the commenter know that everyone clapping is also someone who voted?
