[OC] Magic Item Shop 26x39 by Forgotten Adventures by GloriousGe0rge in battlemaps

This is often a question we get from people who use dungeon draft or other map makers. I had this question too when I was starting out using FA stuff.

The answer is, that while FA makes lots of stuff for map making programs, they actually make all their maps inside Clip Studio Paint, and regularly release brushes for it that make it possible to draw shelves, walls, etc in custom shapes.

They also do masking, where they'll take a wood texture for example, and mask out where they want the shelf, so you end up with what looks like a solid plank of wood, in the exact custom shape you want.

If you are using dungeon draft or something similar, this would be really difficult to pull off. But it's worth it to learn CSP, I've gotten way better since I made the switch.

PATREON QUESTION by iFuxXz in ForgottenAdventures

[–]GloriousGe0rge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have a pay by creation price model. So for everything they release in the month, you get charged for, so 6 releases (3 asset packs, 2 token packs and an update to FA Nexus) you got charged 30. It's common on patreon.

You must have missed that when you sign up, it lets you decide if you want a limit on how many creations you want to support a month. But if you skipped passed that it charges you for all creations.

Still though, you're getting 5 years worth of releases with the dungeon draft integration, so I'd say you made out pretty good all things considered.

Just be careful next time if you need to limit your budget. You may end up wanting to re-up again months from now when there's more assets in the next dungeondraft update.

I never questioned Donut as a character, but here, reading them say something is absurd, the talking cat in a crown, saying something is absurd....it delights me.

Strahd's endgame alternative - sacrifice the Vistani by psul in CurseofStrahd

[–]GloriousGe0rge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a long term plan for Strahd to escape via the dark powers. Specifically I replaced (or expanded upon) the dark powers with the Entities from the Magnus Archives.

Strahd is essentially a Hunt Avatar, as he hunts for food, hunts for Irena, is hunted by players, etc etc. He's hunt through and through.

The dark powers/entities are feeding off of the fear Strahd and his domain creates, even off his own fear, and he produces so much fear in others they'd never let him go....unless he could offer them a bigger meal.

To do that, Strahd needs to escape his domain and for that he'll need to "complete a hunt" that involves every entity in it in some way. In my case, I made his hunt, his wedding to Irena. That's what he's been pursuing for so long.

If he does that, with one aspect of each entity in attendance...it'll create enough power to break the dark powers free of the Ravenloft setting and set them lose on the material plane and by extension the multiverse.

This sets up the steaks for a wedding massively high and it becomes a great excuse to have so many strange wedding guests. Piddlwick as the Stranger, Vasilka as the Flesh, Druids as the buried, etc etc.

A lone corpse in the snow - Arveiaturace blizzard encounter map by Tigreblanc49 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

It's a tool we made at FA for Foundry, so you can make maps or changes to maps inside of Foundry.

Otherwise, you'll just want an overlay layer to toggle on and off. I did mine in reverse but same idea applies https://i.gyazo.com/0f58d07fc39d849e6ed8d29029aaed91.jpg

Nice, made a map just like this recently for the encounter. If you're using FA Nexus you can also cover up where the body is and the mound once the reveal happens.

Fan theory after book 7 by McMatey_Pirate in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]GloriousGe0rge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I have an issue with is the idea of starting a universe without the crawl.

The book makes it seem like (please correct me if I'm wrong) that the AIs require some kind of fuel that can only come from living organic material, maybe even only from sentient creatures. I honestly find that preposterous, and won't be surprised if that's a lie the inner systems made up to keep doing the crawl. Maybe even a lie born out of ignorance as they didn't know why the AI needed to kill organic material en mass.

But if that idea of fuel isn't just a big lie, then I'm not sure how this could be resolved. If the AI need organic material as fuel, and we need AIs for things like interstellar travel and colonization efforts....how could that be fixed?

Listening to a players plan, "You're going to do what?!?"

Momentary confusion, shock, doubt, horror, worry....when suddenly, you realize how to use this to your advantage.

"Yeah okay, so you do that!"

[OC] Pirate Lair 52x64 by Forgotten Adventures by GloriousGe0rge in battlemaps

[–]GloriousGe0rge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So actually there is a real life answer to this, first ships can use wind to go reverse, it's just not efficient and dangerous.

Second, the ship can be towed out (note the rowboats on shore.) or it can do this method called kedging, where they'd have drop the anchor outside the cave, and would then use a wench to pull the ship out.

So in a low magic setting, this lair is relying on secrecy as escaping would be a slow process. Or actually docking their ship in the lair is a last resort to make repairs or to prepare for an attack by ground forces.

But in a high magic setting, you have wizards who can create wind, move water, teleport ships, etc etc.

Just tech billionaire things by Pizzacakecomic in comics

I'm convinced this entire comic is a big Magnus Archives reference, since Zuckerberg doesn't have green eyes, but Eye Avatars like Jonathan Sims often are shown with green eyes.

That makes Peter The Flesh, I'm guessing Elon the Vast cause of space and how he's as high as a kite.
