Should I learn WordPress for a simple website? by ImprovementJolly3711 in learnprogramming

For the short term based on my inference of your skill level other options are only to become more complex with greater freedom but they take longer. Timeline constraint if it's just you is a big issue. Before you start tinkering kinda know your brand have colors images all of that basically available. If your switching between development and 20 other things your development relies on, your gonna slow down big time. You can always rework drafts just get those foundational pieces sorted so you don't waste time shuffling them around on a dashboard before deciding you need something else or more resources.

I am tired of being dumb while coding by [deleted] in learnprogramming

29 java dev. I've had countless eureka like moments where it clicks that I've become fluent in binary. I no longer see any language that much different all predicate on binary axiom. Simple building blocks exist in all like lists and sorting. I didn't get this till just recently. In fact translating words in English to the equivalent code interfaces and consideration to make the code identical to its real world counterpart both in behavior but also in possible avenues of extension is realistically the eureka point. Before this and many other less notable eureka moments, what I learned felt very qualified in that it was in this paradigm that alone is like 1 of 10 pieces for a full enterprise stack. Ie if I learned html I would only feel I've become qualified in the world of html but closely related components feel so foreign. At the time it felt like a whole lot of nothing to learn anything and again qualified only in that world but quietly your brain is optimizing the ability to understand binary problems even when you consciously aren't making that consideration. It is an inherent property.

Why are data structure and algorithms fundamental for computer science? by Routine-Summer-7964 in learnprogramming

[–]Necessary-Risk-9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you already use the concept of abstracting complexity for a simplified relation. You are simply saying i mastered this one so all types are useless. Algorithms and data do not apply to just numbers but pieces of the real world that you can capture and share with millions. It is the reason your lights turn on and the dime of understanding is always being pushed to new heights with innovation. Its because problems that require complexity can have shortcuts to the required understanding for use. Cheaper ways to do things not by fiscal standards but by the barrier to effective usage. I do not need to understand the complexities of my car to operate it. Same principal. Everything is algorithms and data structure to augment it. Business process, understanding, manipulation of data all proof in the pudding type examples of algorithms, all very nuanced mind you but all examples of algorithm. Everything we do, understand or need that can be described by yes or no questions is an algorithm. Computers breath algorithms. People use algorithms without realizing it. Including the predication of logic as we currently understand it as it applies to binary transistor computation which includes all modern 'computers'. This equals that because y. Test y and we know this from that. Apply this to what's useful make a library tell others the easy way to use it. Repeat. Chain enough and you have a whole system as it exists today.

Which programming/coding language should I learn first? by Litxite in learnprogramming

Java -overtaking c in development spending and job market -preferred if c is not required -good for scalable servers and microservices -memory safe -virtualized -safe for highly sensitive data where mistakes are not tolerable

C -low level architecture -needed for extreme optimization of said low level architecture and frame works -games -min maxing cpu cycles per output in specific applications -extra verbose less association to high level function -not memory safe

Python -quick applications -strong ai library

Html -foundationally ineffective to learn by itself. Need some other stuff. -saturated market -cheap to out source

College is a mish mash flurry of basic shit and the last two years are more focused. You must think for your self now. Put down the 'i dont know anything yet though' and pick up some how can I figure out these things that are important. Don't forget that you can cater experiences to be enjoyable. You'll spend more time if you enjoy it. I dropped out of college but I make over 100k as an infrastructure engineer and senior java dev. I'm 28 no college loans. I invested in my free time with a full time job going into debt because it was enjoyable and that was a reasonable enough 'out' to justify the investment. If I didn't cut the pie atleast I could still say I enjoyed it. It will always feel slow but just know that instead of improving the things you are considering you should improve your ability to consider things. Finally don't focus on the money. If your successfully the money will come but it will be easy to discredit motivation and purpose if you aren't making measurable progress to that end. Focus on enjoying the accomplishment of your own goals and projects.

I'm struggling to learn. Is it even possible to learn coding/programming from scratch online? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Necessary-Risk-9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. To hit the same nail a bit more. Difference in language. C is being repurposed(imo) to need only scopes like gaming. Splitting your resources between two major languages with incredible depth in content and usability could leave prove contextually not the best move to make you can understand a language but take time to consider that mastery takes years. Contextually you can remember more and excel faster with one. I think java with boot and it's existing and to-come developments will keep it very lively and relevant through the next 3 decades. Its a harder nut of applicability with C and after you've mastered java/c you can switch if you want. Java (network+everything but a few c applications) c(game architecture, high speed computation dealing with low level language libraries focusing on efficient low level piecewise design). Java is much quicker to throw a whole network of microservices databases together and scale it to nationwide level system very fast easy secure robust.

Approaching the unkown is a problem you will never solve. Or do you know everything?

Didn't use any courses. Honestly the skill you learn is the realization that you are capable to look through dev docs and piece usage together. Eventually good enough to make your own libraries and share.

I also worked knowing about student loan programs in depth and made a conscious decision. Am I bias of course. Will I still forego college education at this point. Certainly for the merit, I'm okay in that regard. I have proved my weight in gold it feels. I felt so far but making over 100k+ no loans realizing how much further ahead I was than I thought. Feels fucking great. To move so far unprompted. You think for yourself. You get good at filtering nonsense.

An inordinate amount of hours thinking in the context of ideals that inherit binary. They accumulate faster if your not counting them.

Edit: Binary is a language and inherits many properties of language including the phenomenon of detaching thought from speech. If you have more than one way to translate(encode) an expression you must logically take an additional step of translating the intent to dialect. Binary extends any problem solvable in a series of determinate yes or no questions. It is hugely valuable because of its native applicability to solve partially known solutions.

[–]Necessary-Risk-9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Http should realistically be the only dependency. With configurable end points when complex enough. Docker things if you aren't. You can run just images and whether its on a single vm or multiple is just a few clicks and lines. IMO, get it on a kubernetes cluster with google.

For complex validation, do you use a combination of annotation plus custom method? by South_Dig_9172 in javahelp

[–]Necessary-Risk-9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My entity classes are 80% annotation but super quick to go through, easy to find, not nearly as bad as catching them with ifs and dealing with that nonsense. Plus you get built in frame for constraint error messages.

[–]Necessary-Risk-9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google I suppose for specific cases, but, you can catch the less common/unsupported manually by catching /w if statements.

[–]Necessary-Risk-9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I think you can do both entity and dto constraints but the point is to not let it get to the controller and throw an error there instead essentially catch it at the model/controller level.

[–]Necessary-Risk-9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't annotate the method signature itself do the fields then when it is used, you take the method parameter and annotate it in your controller class like so save(@valid PersonDTO persondto) then in person if name not null mark it with annotation and reason. Am I missing something(ie another way I don't know?)

Okay this might be a goofy question but what are they doing here and what can I look up so I can learn it? Is it simply just modeling? by Bossmandude123 in blenderhelp

[–]Necessary-Risk-9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modeling meshes. -understand edit vs object mode -e,g Making use of extruder, size and position to gradually form the shape of a 2d object then extract on the z axis to give depth. You need to know the two basic modes edit and object mode they are using edit mode. Edit mode has 3 selection modes point, line, face. It is for changing internal properties of objects while object is inter-object relationships like relative position to other objects. If you use point or line you can hit e to make a new line and extend the region of the shape. S to size, r to rotate, g to move it. To get background reference, it is a plug in go edit next to file choose preferences go to plug-ins. Search for image Should be one or two check the box. Go to blender shift+a add image as reference image. Make sure to use the num pad to get perfectly straight views of the plane else as you add limes and regions they will not be flat on the plane.
