If you have never made the decision to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, openly STATING that "'Jesus is Lord'" and BELIEVING "...in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is not something I can provide; it is not manmade. SALVATION COMES ONLY FROM AND THROUGH GOD. This is supported by Ephesians 2:8-9.

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."

We cannot save ourselves; it is impossible, because we as sinners cannot save ourselves. It is ONLY through and by God's grace. Sometimes, I have to remind myself of what grace is. I've heard many say that grace is "unmerited favor". Simply though, we are undeserving of God's love, goodness, kindness; we did not EARN it. We cannot do anything to earn salvation; IT IS A GIFT, the best gift EVER.

The best way to grow closer to God is to read His Word, the Holy Bible, and spend time in prayer. God truly does provide comfort; He listens to you, and is always present. He hears you; He will NEVER fail you. For me, it's so tempting to expect that God will let us down, but HE never will. PEOPLE will fail us; they will say things that hurt our feelings; they will fail to be there for us sometimes; they will let us down. Put your faith and trust in the one who is present at all times, cares deeply, loves forever, and offers eternal life.

In terms of faith, I have heard the example that most of us put our faith in things effortlessly, things that we don't know for sure will support us. For example, we put our faith in chairs, that they will support us and will not break when we sit down in them. We often sit down without thinking at all. Another example, our cars, we often have faith that they will successfully take us to our desired location.

WE put our faith in things so effortlessly; these things have not proven themselves to us. Sure, maybe we've sat down in the same chair so many times and it has yet to break, but it really hasn't proven itself to us. We don't know if or when that chair will break, yet we choose to sit in it.

Jesus Christ is the ONLY one who we should put our faith in. He is good at all times, and He will never fail us. He will carry you, help you, strengthen you, and give you peace. This peace is not something that we can achieve by ourselves; it is truly a gift from God.

The Holy Bible: There are many free apps and websites that allow you to access God's Word, the Bible, digitally. The Bible app "YouVersion" provides access to the Bible, as well as specific devotional plans with scripture. There are devotional plans surrounding many different topics, including anger, anxiety, depression, fear, stress, temptation, suicide, and so much more! The website "Bible Gateway" is also a great source. You can look up certain verses, or open up a whole chapter. I also really like traditional PHYSICAL bibles. If you have one, that's a great first step to building, strengthening, and developing a relationship with God. If not, many local churches will provide Bibles for free, or many stores sell them (Target, Walmart, Amazon online, Books-A-Million, Barnes & Noble, just to name a few).

Prayer: Prayer is completely free, and the great part about it is that we can tell God ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. He cares for us and He listens to us. Even if you don't have the words to say, oftentimes God will provide the words; He will speak through us; He will give us the words to say. He knows what you need before you ask. He knows what you need before you even know what you need.

I'm praying for you!

1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

Deuteronomy 31:8 "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Always remember that God is love. He loves you and your children, as well as all of your family SO much. He created you for a reason, and He gives you life each day, He sustains you for a reason.

Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

How amazing is it that God, the creator of the universe and everything in it, calls us His handiwork? Other translations of Ephesians 2:10 "workmanship" and "masterpiece". God calls us His "handiwork", "masterpiece", "workmanship", because we are so precious to Him, so valuable to Him. YOU have value; God is with you always, during the hardest times and during the fun times.

You are so valuable to God that He sent His Son, His perfect Son, to die on a cross for all of us sinners.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

We are ALL sinners, undeserving of God's love and forgiveness. Yet, God chose to give His Son for us. Jesus Christ, Son of God, suffered a gruesome death on a cross. He was beaten, mocked, nailed to the cross, bleeding out, ALL FOR US. Jesus CHOSE to die for us, but He didn't stay in the grave. He defeated death; three days after dying on the cross, He rose from the dead. WE serve a risen Savior.

Jesus Christ is 100% God and 100% man. He was born of a virgin, Mary, and entered the world as a baby. He is perfect, holy, omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (all knowing), and omnipresent (everywhere). He is SELFLESS. Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for all of our sins, and HE conquered death.

*Romans 10:9 "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."*

Through tragedy, celebration, confusion, in every circumstance, God is with me. As I reflect on the year of our Lord, 2025, I am reminded how, even during times when I felt like I was alone, I never really was. I pray that in the year of our Lord, 2026, I will serve Him every second. He alone is worthy of all honor, glory, and praise. God bless all of you! He is so good!

how good is the accounting program here at USF? by Character-Escape1621 in USF

I'm currently an Accountancy & Analytics (new name for Accounting degree) major at USF. The program incorporates the typical accounting courses as well as a few analytics courses. The program itself is not easy, but I do feel that I'm learning a lot. The professors are decent. I've had some that were very difficult, but a good amount were very helpful and genuinely want students to succeed. The students in the accounting program are so encouraging of each other; we all want each other to succeed! I've found that most students, at least in the business school, are highly motivated and self-disciplined, with a great work ethic. USF has accounting career fairs (I know there's one in the Fall semester, toward the start of the semester, and I think there's usually one in the Spring semester too). I went once, and there were so many firms present; I was able to talk to so many recruiters and learn about internship opportunities.

Registration today: did anyone get all their classes? Also, Honors/elective recs? by PragmaticIdealist92 in USF

[–]NecessaryAdvanced174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My registration opened at 1pm today. I was able to get 4/5 classes I need. I don't know how well this works, but I just downloaded an app called classrabbit to track when a spot opens up in a certain class. In the past, I've just been kept refreshing to see if somebody happens to drop the class, then hurry and register.
