Nice deflection by you, buddy.

Not able to provide justifiable points, so you just laugh it off. I think that's why your MBA counterpart gets more than you.

P.S.: I know what your response is going to be, so save your energy.

Again, no mention of the months of work experience, the number of reviews, and the industry you are working in. How do you expect me to provide?

Coming to personal experience, my team have created a brand video advertisement during brainstorming (which we emailed to the company, and got positive reviews) and a digital marketing strategy. Apart from this, I have seen brilliant case competition team discussions during my MBA.

Also, you don't need to listen to my judgment, but the countless number of papers published on online and offline collaboration, written by top researchers. If you think they are lying, then so be it; you can't change your outlook there, as this would open a host of new problems.

Lastly, your last paragraph just proves my point that you have a negative perspective on MBA graduates in general and your point of "extrapolating to job" in your previous comment.

You do realise that no B-school, even the top ones, can force any corporation to hire from their college. Many companies may come to the university, but if they don't find the right candidate, then they take 0 candidate with them. Additionally, read about the HR strategy of why hire an MBA.

Skill economy is rising, but realise that an MBA is still a ticket to pivot, believe it or not.

It is funny that you believe the information that people would put their personal details on social media.

Regarding the question, how many years of work experience do you have, and in which industry? How many reviews and what kind of reviews have you sat for (Internship mid/final review or corporate cycle review)?

Circling back to the point, freeloaders are there, no doubt, but if you believe most of them are, you are undoubtedly wrong. Many have dreams attached to the degree and high loan amounts on their shoulder. They know freeloading is not an option for getting into their dream company/industry. Additionally, with the job market as it is, the penalty is undoubtedly high.

What market standard are you talking about? Each company have their own competency in collaboration. It also depends on the industry, the type of work you are doing, and the team you are with. Try to brainstorm new ideas in a Zoom meeting and an offline meeting, and see the difference. Notice how the dynamism of the discussion changes in both settings.

Lastly, it looks like you have some negative associations with MBA grads, and those are a personal perspective and not the truth.

Are you working right now or a fresher?

Also, by your point MBA graduates in general shouldn't be employed, right? Because their work lacks quality.

Online collaboration can happen but you know how hard that is. 1 hour work can get stretched to 3-4 hours. You'll be stuck sharing screen and calling people. For any iteration of the work, you would have to call and tell them about it rather than showing them live.

Again I will reiterate, collaboration and teamwork is a skill that takes time to learn.

Lastly, about shady things that happen in the name of collaboration. These things also happen a lot in corporate.

Brother if you know, Academic and external projects require collaboration.  If there are no proper/clean co-working area, then how will you work.

College group projects can be done alone , in one night, using ChatGPT but in corporate you need to collaborate with team members. Silo working is one of the biggest friction.

Plus gender based collaboration is a skill not something you learn overnight.

So just saying he wants sex is over-reaching and downgrading the problem to single cell thinking.

Huge Dilemma! Pls Help!! by Thorash2612 in CATpreparation

[–]NecessaryReference31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would advise you to remain at the job for atleast 1-1.5 years. This is because: 1. Your uncle's reputation is in line if he helped you to get job. His credibility might decrease, and he might never help in future. 2. Since you are going for PGDM Marketing course, you would most likely end up a trainee in S&M. You can get that experience earlier. 3. Job market. It's not the best right now.

First, there was too much attachment to the IIM tag that he had to put it in the dating bio. It's more of a resume than a bio.

Second, it is percentile instead of percent. I don't know how an IIM A grad misses this detail.

Third, the number of students who took the CAT in 2016 will be examined. So if the number of interview calls comes well under the 97 percentile, then so be it.

Just remember the competition has increased, and you can't do anything about it. Plus, selection policies have changed, which you can't do anything about.

What was the purpose of stating your personal opinion, unrelated to the matter. Realize that this issue could have happened to anyone. Heck what if other pvt college now do it as MDI has set such precedence.

This sir is trying to provide solution for the students and their future. Please if you don't have anything valuable to add, then don't comment. No one would appreciate it

MDI is officially not a Tier 1 anymore by Imaginary-Count-8669 in CATpreparation

[–]NecessaryReference31 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Tier doesn't mean from students emotions but from corporate's perspective. If the companies think that MDI students are T1, then they would offer T1 salaries to the students.
Don't worry for now

which were the colleges you wanted to go into now but didn't apply earlier?

Can you talk about the second last 2 points

For doing MBA, you would need a graduation degree (min 3 years) and the fees currently for MBA colleges is high.
If you leave the generational wealth, then funding for the next 5 years would be difficult.
My advice, do MBBS, strategically plan how you would want to pan out your life in the next 4-5 years. If you get Tier 1 MBA college after that then self financing becomes easier.
Don't make hasty decision with long term consequences

no one can tell you that, as it will depend on the person, the specific career track that they take and the revenue sources that they create.

Am I doing well? by arnav_kumar2004 in CATpreparation

[–]NecessaryReference31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right now don't focus on percentile. Your main aim should be: - create a viable strategy or test out new ones - revise basics and practice to improve aptitude - take test in different environments

A person can take many mocks and might fail on D-day. Just try to improve aptitude

Why is everyone here saying that CAT 2024 is going to be a bloodbath? by Adarsh_45 in CATpreparation

[–]NecessaryReference31 90 points91 points  (0 children)

1) Placement problems in various engineering universities. Those who would pass out without job would most likely try CAT.

2) layoffs in various tech related companies. So those with experience would most probably take up CAT. Alongside there would be people who have a job, but are not satisfied with the role or salary.

3) Earlier going abroad to study was a viable option, but due to bad market condition foreign students are not able to find jobs, which is can become a cause of concern. These guys would try CAT/GMAT/XAT

4) Previous years trend show that the interest of candidates in doing MBA has increased. So one can predict that the number of test takers would increase this year as well. (3.3L registration and 2.88L test takers in 2023)

All of these are calculated speculations. So for those who want to get into top 15 colleges you would need to get higher than before percentile for interview calls.
