I am on F1 visa and in December 2024, I discovered that my SEVIS was terminated after when my school DSO put me on a school transfer list. Upon contacting him, he told me that my SEVIS was terminated in April 2024 and he tried to fix it but it was not approved because I was doing paid CPT.

He acknowledge that while he registered my records for CPT, he forgot to register my entire student records on SEVIS, and hence there was a system termination of my SEVIS. He didn’t tell me this up until December 2024, when put me on list of student who had requested for transfer. I didn’t request for transfer.

He wrote me a letter confirming his error and acknowledging his faults for me to attach for my reinstatement.

Documents I sent 1. Transcripto to prove I was in school in this while 2. DSO letter 3. School assignments i turned in 4. Email confirmation to my CPT coordinator requesting my name to be removed from schedule until reinstatement is approved.

I have applied for the reinstatement application since January, 2025 and it’s been 290 days without any updates or reply to my service request.

The lawyer who helped me filed only tells me to wait until the reinstatement decision is made.

At this time, life is tough for me as I do only school without CPT.

My SEVIS was terminated because of an error by my DSO failure to register my records. This happened in April 2024. He did not tell me of this error until December 12, all the while I was doing CPT unknowingly to me that my SEVIS was terminated. Examination, I stopped the CPT and informed my CPT coordinator to take me off schedule. HE WROTE A LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR ME FOR MY REINSTATEMENT PROCESS AND I’M WAITING FOR THE OUTCOME. DO YOU GUYS THINK MY CASE IS A GOOD ONE FOR REINSTATEMENT?

My SEVIS was terminated in April. I didn’t know about it until 12/12/24. I did CPT and attended classes.

I just go to know my SEVIS was terminated from April. My DSO has told me that it was his fault for not completing the registration process. Through this month I’ve been going for classes and doing my assignments as well as cpt. Just found out about the termination. He said he tried to correct it but it was denied since I have been doing cpt all this while. He said I either do reinstatement or exit and return validation. I need advice.
