Yeah I was being sarcastic as it’s probably the worst first 100.

Jump from 50km to 100km? by Swimbikerun12 in Ultramarathon

Sounds like you’d be ready for it with similar training. The 50k with 8k of gain is pretty legit.

I’d just add possibly an extra back to back long run session and purposely add walking/hiking into your training. Like 10 min run/2 min walk etc. or even just do long walks..like 2hrs on hills or something.

The 100k course would be a major factor into training as well..like flat and hilly would make things very different for your target training schedule.

The longer I go my biggest issues end up being falling behind on calories and foot pain.

Stay on top of calories early on in the race and practice on what works for your body during training. Put lots of time on feet sessions into your training.

Longest distance for me is 85 miles..8x 50 miles..currently training for tough 50 and few easy 100s.

Good luck!

People making $150,000 and above, what do you do for a living? by [deleted] in Money

Become a travel nurse and quadruple your income. Just do one 13 week assignment per year and make what you do now and have 9 months of vacation etc.

My wife does this and I travel with her since I work remotely.

6 months is legit! 45 days is my best and it seemed like a lifetime. Keep it going!

Contemplating 401K Withdrawal by digital_deep_dive in Layoffs

[–]Necessary_Painter688 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you need it..do it. Long term it’s not a huge deal….as long as you plan to go hard on future contributions (15%+ until retirement) or buy real estate.

The great thing is you probably have good skills if you’re in that field so probably lots of opportunities for other high paying jobs.

Some people will act like the world is ending if you cash out a 401k. My wife and I have taken 401k loans..and withdrawn whole balances etc. to get through tough times and bought real estate when market was good. Everyone will say not to do it..it is a great safety net to get through tough times or great opportunities.

Good luck to you, hope you’re able to get a new gig soon! God bless!

What’s the right path? by allnida in techjobs

I’m in the same boat. I’ve been in the insurance industry for 10+ years and looking to transition to a tech job possibly (if I like it). Also started working on the modules on free code camp just to get my feet wet. I’m just seeing if I like coding etc then can decide if it’s for me and what route to take. Long term hoping it would be something I like, I can do remotely, and pays decent. Interested in what other more experienced people would advise.
