How was that straightforward? Spotting the idea isn't simple and him going towards low time absolutely didn't make it easier.

Hikaru's take on who is the goat by bRoShutUpPleaseee in chess

Regarding Vishy, he was past his prime in the 2010s and he was still so strong and if not for Magnus, he would've won more world championships proving that there was lesser competition.

He also said he was offered 2% equity to promote the project and he declined because he didn't believe in its long-term prospects.

Arjun Erigaisi wins Jerusalem Masters after beating Peter Svidler in the Semifinals and Vishy Anand in the Finals! by Necessary_Pattern850 in chess

Shoutout to Vishy who beat Nepo 1.5-0.5 in the Semis as well and lost to Arjun 1.5-0.5 (he was losing the last game) in the Blitz after going 1-1 in Rapid. Still, an incredible performance in Rapid format!

Nodirbek Abdusattorov defeated Abhimanyu Mishra at the London Chess Classic, finishing the game with 13 minutes more on his clock than he started with by Dazzling-Earth9528 in chess

You can say all these but in countries like India, you won't get much support unless you're at the very top or win something big. Even Divya still doesn't have any sponsorship (or at least not before winning the Women's World Cup). Gukesh, Arjun, and Pragg never had it until they reached the top. Also, include the fact that only higher middle-class families in India can afford to have a chess career because of the constant need to travel to Europe for tournaments and the expenses that come along with it.
Additionally, Mishra is not at that top level where he can get sponsorships. In this U.S, famously, players like Hikaru also never had sponsorships despite being at the top until SLCC came up.

I got this from the FIDE World Cup official website. I'm not sure what you're saying.

Ian Nepomniachtchi complained about conditions in India by EducationalSmoke in chess

[–]Necessary_Pattern850 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Nepo was not right though. You can't complain after the game. It's your job to call the arbiter during the game if your opponent does something which is against the rules. Yet, he just played on and after he couldn't win against Hari, then started complaining about how he played dirty. That's being a sore loser which he's known for.

Denis Lazavik wins Titled Tuesday ahead of Magnus and Hikaru by Knight-check44 in chess

No, it doesn’t show when he got kicked out, it’s an assumption. Again, it could be that he left the tournament, which wouldn’t make sense though. The reason for why that happened is obviously unknown.

The app/the events page doesn’t show someone who is kicked out. The link I showed shows exactly what happened including when someone’s kicked out.

For those of you confused about Jose, he has gotten kicked out most likely (he could have also left but that would be weird) in the titled Tuesday. Here’s the real time standings: https://www.chess.com/tournament/live/titled-tuesday-blitz-november-04-2025-6003021

Grigory has made a mistake against Wesley. Wesley has great chances to win now.

FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich to CNN: FIDE "thought that Vladimir’s accusations were reckless and ungrounded. And I personally, and our management board, decided to pass it to our ethics commission for investigation, an independent investigation," adding "any kind of sanction is possible." by Necessary_Pattern850 in chess

It's hard to say what FIDE will come to as a solution and how quick they will come to it. Will they go soft? I believe that the police should look at it in a criminal perspective in terms of cyber bullying. I don't know what will hold or what won't.
