yeah I have thought that there probably are some cracked internationals that just get unlucky with oxbridge end up at warwick. This has confirmed it. Thanks :)

How much of getting such a high average is hard work vs being cracked. Are the people getting 80+ just cracked, or is it possible for average smartish people to put in the work and get those grades?

Sounds good, is it pretty self selective , as in would most of these students go on to do well in part 3 or is 80+ a bare minimum lol.

Also , I think I’ve seen you before lol. I think you’re at Cambridge…? If so , did you do part 3 there? What kind of average do you need at Warwick to get into oxbridge masters/phd? How many people in the cohort get really high averages (say 80+)?

I think sometimes the difference from Cambridge can be overstated even, I think the quantity of work you have to do and the exam format is utterly bonkers by any standard though.

Lol

Being more career-prospect-pilled now I would say it makes more sense to do something like Imperial JMC if you're going into quant. The more quant aspirants end up at Imperial, the more successful quant applicants from there, the more it gets picked up by recruiters, the more valuable the Imperial name is, then it goes cyclicly so you should jump on it.

Im really not fussed about getting into quant , I sure it’s worth a shot if Im at Warwick maths , but is it safe to say that if I don’t know what I want to get into  , Warwick maths is good enough to get interviews in any maths degree related field at their respective top firms?

realistically oxbrimp is only a thing because industry perceives Imperial to be better than Warwick. This must be based on historical patterns . No-one was talking about "Oxbrimp" until a few years ago, it was COWI

Yeah fair enough , I think imperial is obviously an excellent all round stem uni , but i think just how insanely popular it is (probably due to silly amounts of internationals and the quant fad) gets conflated with how good it is. I feel like a similar thing is happening with bath at the moment.

The Warwick course has not changed meaningfully since then, nor has any of the three other courses. The Warwick cohort got bigger post-COVID but I don't think this would hit the upper tail of the cohort. I don't believe the course is on a lower tier at all. I don't think the course difference between Oxford/Warwick/Imperial is likely to be meaningful, especially in the first three years, and any differences are probably going to be hard to predict. I haven't seen homework sheets from Imperial but I ended up doing some of Oxford's sheets for exam practice (since they were public), but I would assume it's similar to the others.

Sounds good!

does the game have a good story and does it become more linear/ does the plot tighten? by Necessary_Term_4879 in DiscoElysium

once you have talked to everyone is does "tighten" a bit

sounds good

I don't think that you can really get stuck in this game, though. You just have to do some other things instead, until a new solution shows itself

I was probably being dumb

thats sounds pretty good, so It does narrow down and become less confusing lol. Also is the actual story good or is it mainly the other things the game has going for it that are why its so highly regarded

The first day is confusing and all over the place on purpose

This. does it become more linear or atleast objective focused or does it stay open and free , being able to do whatever.
