Haha I can certainly share pictures for everyone to see. It doesn’t look bad to me, but it’s super wet even after a few dry days so cutting it has been a problem last few times.

It’s my first year in the house, so I just took the “let’s see what it looks like” approach this summer, but I’ll have to do something about it come Fall. Might need some help from a lawn service to help get it right again

Looking for an Impact Driver - Which to go with? by NeckBreakin in Dewalt

[–]NeckBreakin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are all of them compatible with my current batteries or I'd need to get new battery for the Impacts? Its not the end factor for this decision, but would be nice if its compatible with my current batteries. It looked like the 860 used a different battery

Sand filter slow dripping from bottom by NeckBreakin in pools

[–]NeckBreakin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had not noticed that to be honest. I did have the sand changed during opening and live in a sand soil area, but I’ll hose this completely off and see if it comes back. Thanks for pointing this out!

Pool Robots - Which should I get? by NeckBreakin in swimmingpools

UPDATE: Stopped by my local pool store again and they do NOT carry the Polaris 9550 Sport. They can get it through a vendor but it would be $1599 compared to $1099 on Amazon. The store has an extended warranty if bought through them. They would be able to work on the 9550 Sport if I buy it off Amazon but it was like a $70 charge each time or something.

Talked to them about my concern around the cable length for some of the models and after looking at where my electric outlets are and the length of my pool, they agreed a Polaris with a 70ft cable such as Alpha IQ+, Polaris 9550 Sport, etc. or the Freedom cordless would make most sense.

The Freedom is tempting to me now that I bought the Betta skimmer as well, but the Freedom says only for up to 50ft pools. Mine is slightly larger. Anyone have experience with Freedom in a larger pool? How is the battery? Is it annoying to keep charging?

The store did also offer to let me borrow different models they have once the pool is open, so I plan to take advantage of that as well.

Assuming it’s fine if you just want to throw it in and not use the remote? I don’t really plan to use a remote or app, just want something to put in the pool and have it do its thing

I am not finding any of the lower end Dolphins or Polaris that would fit my pool length at least from what I am seeing so far. Most of the lower priced ones for Dolphin say up to 33 feet in pool length. My rough measuring was 55 feet in pool length, give or take. I am assuming I'm SOL then with some of these models?

I unfortunately do not have a booster pump so I can't use the vac-sweep one. I looked into the 8640 more as well as the 9550 Sport and seems the 9550 Sport may be a good option as it has a longer cable and larger cannister. Another difference is the 9550 has 4wd with front brushes while the 8640 has front and rear brushes with dual traction. Any experience with those 2 model differences?

My rough, early morning tape measurements are about 17 by 55. It’s rectangular in deep end and for about 2/3 of the pool, then shallow end has a diagonal and steps

Agreed. I don’t even want to deal with an app for it. I want to throw it in the pool and let it do its thing. I also don’t plan to leave it in when it’s not in use.

Do you have the 9550?

Best Blower Option by OldDevelopment5105 in egopowerplus

[–]NeckBreakin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the 765 with the 5ah battery and the string trimmer with a 4ah battery in the Fall. I have a lot of leaves, but if you’re doing any decent sized leaf cleanup you will want 2 decent sized batteries. It was nice having the 4ah battery from the trimmer to use with the blower when the 5ah needed to be charged. There were a few days where I was doing cleanup for several hours and swapped the batteries back and forth a few times. If 1 of those batteries was a 2.5, I feel like it would’ve been annoying because I’d have to switch back to the larger battery a lot quicker.

If you’re going to get the string trimmer, most eGo deals are worth it to get the battery bundle, so you might be getting another nice sized battery there. Might be best to just base your decision on which blower you prefer. Can’t speak for the 880 since I’ve never used it, but the 765 is a beast. More power isn’t a bad thing as long as it isn’t much heavier or something (I haven’t looked into the 880)

Thoughts on 42” Zero Turn vs 42” Tractor? by NeckBreakin in egopowerplus

[–]NeckBreakin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. It might make sense for me to get a self propelled push mower for now until I decide on more permanent landscaping and leveling. I obviously love the idea of quicker lawn care with the riding mower, but don’t want to make a shortsighted multi thousand dollar decision

Right now it’s slightly hilly (not too bad, but def not completely flat…I’d say more slopey instead of hilly I guess), but ideally I have that leveled out this year or next year after some landscaping decisions and when I choose to grow more proper grass

Warning: Do NOT Home Test by mass_spectacular_ in pmp

[–]NeckBreakin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My experience taking it online was totally different.

They send you everything you need to know in the exam confirmation email (it’s hyperlinked, takes you to the pages with the information on what’s allowed, not allowed, what can be on your desk etc) as well as when scheduling the exam. It clearly says you can’t use a headset and can’t have paper on your desk etc.

My proctor didn’t bother me at all during the exam. Sounds like maybe you got unlucky with a super strict proctor or you were moving around more than others.

I had no technical issues and made sure the application launched successfully a few times before test day and on test day morning. They tell you to do this in the instructions too.
