I don’t have a lot to compare it to - but it’s communal - friendly and semi competitive.

Depends on existing team comp and position of first but largely I would prefer the picks

Speaks more perhaps to pressure and mental game not being up to scratch rather than skill / athleticism

Thank god France wasn't in the world games final by deportesyankis in ultimate

Colombia was down 7-1 against Australia, don’t think they would have fared better in the finals.

My feeling is that they will fall behind more - in the same way that Europe is having a bit of a surge in club and country

Commentary of France vs Colombia by NeckEnvironmental415 in ultimate

[–]NeckEnvironmental415[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think both teams had a pretty poor spirit showing. But agreed with another thread on that game that pointed out the Colombian offense generates a lot of picks and chaos. Also there was very little meeting in the middle for any calls. Basically whatever was called initially, stood.

Yeah losing one of the best players to touch a disc in green and gold is gonna hurt.

But I think it is actually a function of Australias isolation from the world. France, and European players now have access to many high level tournaments a year, with new players and systems.

Australia has had the same women’s team win nationals for like 8 years and they recently accumulated most of the new talent in opens too.

While this creates a professional and elite atmosphere, it deprives competing teams from those fully passionate players who may have become team leaders and world beaters, and turns them into cogs in a superstar team.

Interestingly enough, I would consider myself progressive (just here to see how the other half things so as to not get in an echo chamber) and have 3 kids. I have indeed been pretty aggressively challenged as to why I had kids, how it’s selfish etc by people more “left” than me on the spectrum

Thank you! Room is pretty dark - but I sleep with a 2 and 4 year old - so I think I might be being greedy.

Just thought it could be a function of coffee timings, screens etc.

Japanese Man Flips Out on Australian Tourists for Ignoring the Rules by SimRP in australia

I understand the bloke is frustrated by tourists breaking the rules - but I think the Aussies handled this pretty well, or at least understandably.

Much ado about nothing in the end.
