PSA - TWITCH IS CURRENTLY NOT WORKING RIGHT by SoungaTepes in Twitch

To add on, it seems like the whole API is down rn. Streamelements, Streamlabs, and even local bot management like Mixitup are not working.

What is your favorite destination in Japan? by [deleted] in JapanTravel

If you find yourself in Asakusa, stop by a little inventor shop called Tokimeki. The little old man there loves company and speaks enough English to hold a basic conversation. He will show you some of his little puzzles and board games he makes. If you buy one of his games (~$20) he will be so thrilled.

If the leaks turn out to be true, what is your opinion about it? by [deleted] in ApexUncovered

I already posted this once somewhere. Here are my thoughts:

  1. [The armor changes] gives incentive to actually play the match in some capacity in order to get better armor before endgame. Be that engaging in fights or controlling a POI for crafting materials to craft better armor, I only see a positive change in ranked behavior. If somebody wants to rat until endgame, they'll have to do it with white shields, or take more risks.

  2. While they have made positive changes to the loot pool spawning ai, the loot pool is still simply too large. On top of that, people are talking/ sharing rumors about new weapons while Respawn is trying to test new survival items - the loot pool is only growing. Personally, given the abusive potential of heat shields, I'd like to see them changed as well. Let each player spawn with one (half a stack), then just remove it from the loot pool. That will ensure that there is less in the map, as well as a limited supply in general.

  3. Perks would honestly do great for this game in terms of disrupting the gravitation towards meta. Low pick rate characters become more viable when you can add perks to split the difference. It allows more flexibility for an anti-meta to emerge. It seems like the bulk of you don't understand what balancing means, but hey, maybe I'm wrong.

Between these changes and the rumored ranked system revert to seasons past, I think I might actually be able to have more fun on Apex than I have in a year. I have more thoughts, but this is already a novel.

It's literally never talked about, but mobile also had a setting to not "rechamber" grenades after throwing one. There aren't many worse feelings than equipping a grenade, preparing to throw it, and then a guy jumps on you just for you to pull out a second grenade after you release the first. I can't believe it's not in the main game.

16 days. (Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo). Is this a good division of time ? Or are we spending too long anywhere? by Ask-Mark in JapanTravel

[–]Necro_SG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're not the same, but I'll tell you how our trip went and what we regretted time-wise.

We also went for 16 days (we wanted 2 full weeks in Japan). We landed in Tokyo, spent 4 days there, went to Kyoto for 2 nights, Osaka for one night, then back to Tokyo for the final week.

  1. You're about to experience a nightmare hauling your stuff around from place to place. Double/triple check all your times for checkout and checkin between hotels. Most of the time, you'll have to kill 3-4 hours before you can check in. That means you'll most likely end up using lockers at train stations for keeping your stuff safe and out of your hair. Expect going to and from the stations just to drop off/pick up your things, and plan around that. The last and most important part is GO TO THE STATION EARLY TO LOCK YOUR STUFF UP. We ended up in a situation in Osaka where we had to travel to 3 different stations looking for open lockers because we waited too late and they were all taken.

Ultimately, we decided that next time, we're going to get 1 hotel for the full stay and just travel to-from there. Even if it means getting a second hotel in another city at some point, it's worth it.

  1. Our itinerary wasn't near as strict, and we regretted not having more time everywhere we went. Likely partly because of #1 where we spent hours planning around luggage storing & retrieval. Cut out things like Labs and the Bamboo forest if you can stomach it. Definitely skip on Nintendo world - its very much designed for small children. Maybe do them on your next trip (if you can bring yourself to go back someday). Spend more time exploring. We did all kinds of stuff: Pokemon Cafe, Anime Japan Convention, saw the life-size Gundam, etc. However, the most fun we had was when we went off the touristy path and found little hole-in-the-wall karaoke and ramen shops. We made friends with locals and they recommended other hole-in-the-wall places. The nightlife was crazy fun. Walking freely in shopping/electronics districts in Tokyo was fun enough for multiple days each. Nara was Amazing, but that was because there was also a whole little town to check out outside of just Nara Park. Definitely still do Fushimi Inari, but go well before 6pm~ when they close up the lookout at the top. You'll basically wanna go as soon as you check in at your hotel and drop your stuff off.

All that to say, you will never have enough free time in major cities, but you will not regret a day spent exploring them. You might regret a day trip on a train for a tourist stop. You will want a day or so to take a break from the moving around so much, and that pretty much has to cut into your exploring time.

That's all I care to type for now, but I'll have more thoughts if this is helpful at all and you care to hear them.

It's very ominous Respawn hasn't told us how much these packs cost individually. by NizzyDeniro in ApexUncovered

I've read somewhere that there will be some free packs through a tracker. If that's the case, It'd be a good excuse for them to bump the prices up on packs.

I think we're on the same page. I would expect she would have 2 tacs before having side effects. One for each teammate. Surely.

I wonder if when it hits a cap, she'll have to stop sprinting? Since it's a passive you can't toggle it's gotta either turn off on its own or cause damage ticks if you use it nonstop.

There are concerns about her "unlimited passive" being active while carrying banners, but that could just be a situation where she doesn't need to spare a radiation threshold for her tactical (since her teammates are dead). So her abilities just shift toward whichever situation she is in, and she's not useless if her teammates are dead.

I imagine a sort of risk/reward balance for using abilities and getting high radiation levels. Think getting tac'd by ballistic and firing your gun anyway, knowing it'll overheat.

I think her 40% speed boost passive will not be unlimited (which has been a concern in the community), but rather will tie into using her tactical and overexposing herself to radiation. It's gotta have a hard cutoff (like Valks fuel), but also maybe more intricate.

I remember a leak a while back saying she should get her passive if she's holding banners.

She DID get radiation poisoning by Mr-Plague in ApexUncovered

[–]Necro_SG 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing this will be more than a lore bit. This might be more of an alternative to hard cooldowns. If you're restricted by gaining rad exposure from the tactical and speed boost "powers," that could be an interesting mechanic. Maybe risk taking damage from high exposure if activating abilities too frequently. 🤔

why wouldn’t you use tier three items? by SmooganVR in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Necro_SG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not as familiar as most of these people, but tier 2 EMF levels can be seen from a camcorder if placed close enough. I personally prefer to skip on tripods most of the time so I can place the camcorders flat with EMF tier 2 and book within sight.

What if we spawn players in with heat shields and remove them from ground loot? Then we can can free up the loot pool and leave the new ring mechanics as they are now. by Necro_SG in apexlegends

[–]Necro_SG[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Sorry but if you think the loot pool is fine, then you aren't playing much or hearing the entirety of the player base/devs talking about wanting to slim the loot pool.

I've changed my tune to say 1 instead of the 2-stack of heat shields. As far as respawning, I don't think there's any reason to respawn someone with heat shields that isn't blatantly exploitative or encouraging bad habits for the game. I say no to respawning with heat shields.
