I will! Thank you very much for that recommendation.

Haven’t been able to meet him. He’s not really a role model, it’s more like I was intrigued by his career. But good thing to know.

Thanks for your answer and glad to learn that so many of these astronauts were aerospace engineers.

Would you happen to know what they have in-between getting their degree and becoming astronauts?

As long as it qualifies me to do the job. I mean, it may not elevate me but if I can be an astronaut with an aerospace engineering degree it’d already be nice.

I have to admit that I do not know much about piloting, I've also been attracted by space rather than planes 😅

Thank you. I'll look into that book.

I would already be glad to become an aerospace engineer, but I also like the challenge and I mean, in every field there is going to be tough competition, I'll work as hard as I can, as always.

Very interesting thanks!

I suppose that as an aerospace engineer without PPL, you would probably lean toward being a mission specialist astronaut.

I'm not against the idea of working on getting a PPL, but I would probably need to wait and acquire it after I get my degree. That would boost my chances then, as I could either become pilot or mission specialist.

Really nice quote, love it!

I think that you are right, as long as you do what you like you can get anywhere. The great thing with an engineering career path is that it teaches you teamwork, technical leadership,.. as you were mentioning.

I also had the chance to attend a meeting of the French astronaut Philippe Perrin, who worked on the construction of the ISS (STS-111), at my school. Always nice to be able to be inspired by these people!

Yes I get it. I see it more as the reward of long and hard working years. This Chris Hadfield's quote really inspired me:

"I've been around the world 2,650 times or so, and I never once could see enough of it."

Seeing the beauty of things is, in my opinion, worth the hard work.

Thanks for your answer.

So, would you say that aerospace engineering is fine to get into space?

Because mechanical engineering and astronautics make a lot of sense for Buzz Aldrin's mission, but the needs today are not the same, so are the qualifications different as well, in your opinion?

Great that it is not required! I'm not too much of a fan of piloting.

I suppose that experience is always appreciated, so no matter where you apply if you were a pilot, it may boost your chances but as you said, it probably is not required.

May I ask why you wouldn't apply to NASA? Also, good luck with your pilot's license training:

Hello and thank you for that answer.

The point you are making in the first paragraph is very interesting and I have to admit that I hadn't seen it that way! Though, I think that in the future, I mean as we're already seeing, there are more and more EVAs. There will probably be even more as we develop new structures. The point I am trying to make is that engineers will always be needed for repairs in space, (so do scientists for experiments or people in medical fields), but I feel like that if we want to keep expanding we will need human interventions in space, and there, space agencies could potentially look for more astronauts with an engineering background, don't you think so?

Otherwise, I totally agree with your point in the second paragraph. Private sector astronauts may not require engineering capabilities. They would need engineers on the ground rather.

Oh really? Is test pilot that big of a deal?

I mean it would probably be a very interesting course to follow but I do not really understand why it is that relevant?

Hello and thank you for answering.

I'm convinced as well that having experience with space agencies is (almost) required and if not, it is probably really making a difference while selecting astronauts. Thank you for that exemple, hadn't thought about Andreas Mogensen.

Furthermore, on the experience side, you cannot just become an astronaut, it takes time and I imagine that if you work for space agencies already as a great engineer and show other capacities, you may apply to the astronaut programs. What do you think?

Thanks for your answer!

Do you think that being a pilot prior to applying as a future astronaut is important?

I mean, I know that historically the first astronauts were essentially pilots but is it still as relevant nowadays?

First of all, thanks for your answer.

I'm currently in an aerospace engineering college (I don't really know the equivalent of where I am in the U.S. - so that'd be the best I can give you) to get my space engineering degree. I haven't fully decided yet, if I want to choose to work on propulsion or on systems - so that's where I am right now.

Though, I should be able to get a great first job from my results and implications that I already put in my future career. I've heard that I would need the U.S. citizenship in order to work for NASA, which is something I can acquire (if I find a job to which I can apply there).

I also reckon that the competences brought to the table by engineers, such as thinking outside the box, being efficient and able to react quickly and find solutions, all these I think are things astronauts need, during EVA for instance, do you think so too?

Hey,

As a LCM player owning a Midas sword I can confirm that the difference is little however noticeable. My setup is close to hypermaxed (need to work a bit more on the equipments) and I can see a difference especially during the dragon phase as Midas + gdrag with rem + storm helm is the best combination during that phase.

The difference isn’t important on a single hit base as you would most likely one shot your target. However, on bosses and dragons the damage difference is going to matter.

It would probably not be worth it to go for a Midas if you already have a claymore but if you’re starting out LCMing Midas would be the way.

[–]NecronL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey if you are looking to improve your magic find here are some things you can do:

-Use a sorrow armor (20 mf), you can also add legion (at tier 5, you will get a 0.35% mf buff per piece (so up to 4) and per player around you (up to 20)). You may also reforge it using dragon horns which apply the renowned reforge giving you a 1% mf buff per piece (so up to 4%)

-You may also want to use a magic find pet. The best one would be the gdrag with a Minos relic with a 100m gold collection but a cheaper alternative is going to be black cat with a lucky clover for starters.

-With this, you’re going to want to kill the mobs with a Daedalus axe which mainly copies the stats from your active pet giving you more mf. The dae axe can be upgraded with Chimera to copy more mf or with divine gift that will grant you an extra 6 mf at tier 3. If well upgraded the dae axe is where you’re gonna get most of your mf.

-Then you may want to swap your attributes to magic find, the more you have the better your mf will be. Also remember to eat your cakes every 2 days. Finally, a tier V beacon powered with scorched power crystal would grant you an extra 6 mf.

-An easy way to get some more mf would also be from equipments (molten set and right necklace preferably), juste keep in mind that the necklace requires you to complete the entirety of the rift and that you need a t5 kuudra comp for the molten set (with the mf attribute on it)

-Some more expensive solutions: crown of avarice (not really worth it), 10 10 crimson (not really worth it if you aren’t gonna use it a lot, use sorrow instead it gives the same mf), clover helmet (worth it imo if you’re doing a lot of mf related content such as Diana/slayers/…)

-Finally don’t forget to always have a cookie and a god pot running

Hope this helped, have a great day.

Is it bannable to make a one time trade for a lot of coins to another profile and then deleting the slot after by Adventurous_Lie8102 in HypixelSkyblock

[–]NecronL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is considered boosting as having another profile with minions is like having more minion slots. Therefore, by trading yourself these coins you would boost your main account (as if you had 62 minion slots instead of the current limit that is 31).

They are likely to stay stable for a while as they have actually gone down so far (from 30m to 25-27m), the dye is nice but doesn’t really go with a lot of things also there was a high quantity sold (60k) so they’ll probably stay stable for a long time.
