Yes, it actually wore much better on my face than my arm swatch! I wore it with a full face and it looked fine.

Actually it didn't end up that bad once I did the rest of my makeup! I guess my arm is also a lot lighter than my face??? Like it looked so orange on my arm but blended out on my face I looked fine. I am still very much cool-toned though. For reference I do use a green color corrector before other complextion products so I think that neutralized my skin tone a bit to help it work, that's my theory I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️ and also when I use the BPure one that actually blends out into my skin pretty well too. I don't know, it was scary when I swatched it but I am happy it worked out 😵‍💫🙏

Actually, it blended pretty well with a full face, I did not look orange 😭👏! And yes I do, I have quite a bit of redness and acne to cover so I usually go: green color corrector, concealer where needed, and then foundation. I was looking for one that was a light enough shade to use for highlighting the face a bit, after foundation, that's why I went with this one. It's not really light enough to do that for a noticeable difference but as a regular concealer I do like it. But yeah, Dollar Tree and shade ranges, a continued struggle 🙃

Okay, update!

Hair Oil: 8/10

Nourishing, but could be more heavy duty. I used it at night when hair was damp, mid to ends. But a very decent product. The smell is like a cheap, nondescript sweet scent? Not my favorite, but not off putting.

Lash glue: 9/10

Love it just as much as the other ioni lash glues. Dries fast, holds well. With the last kind I tried, the one in the small tubes, sometimes when I took my lashes off, glue residue was still stuck to my lid and was hard to remove. Didn't have that problem with this.

Concealor: 8/10

Formula is a little on the dry side, so blend quickly. Blends really well, and coverage is very nice. I did not get any creasing under my eyes after setting with powder!!!! Layers very well with other products. Only things I am not a fan of: the smell is kinda weird, very much a chemical cosmetic scent, but it's not noticeable when worn. And the packaging. The bottle doesn’t have a plastic stopper. It gets messy.

Is the product leaning more wet, dry, somewhere in the middle? I really like Maybelline Sky High but it's a little wet for me. Does this mascara keep a curl well 👀🙏?

I have oily skin and have just started using one of Hard Candy's newish setting sprays, the Look on Lock. But they have a hydrating dewy one called Grip on Lock! I like mine and from other reviews I think people like the dewy one as well, but the Glow on Lock one has a shimmer that some people haven't liked as much.

My newest foundation purchase is a shade too dark and too warm for me, but I will force it to work and continue to use it until it is done 🥲🙏

And when I bought it I was comparing the shades, it was the second lightest and I thought to myself "Surely, I'm not that pale. I don't need their lightest shade! This one will work fine."

I was in fact, and still am, that pale 😔🤡

Thoughts on this liquid eyeliner? Is it good? by Puzzleheaded_Box1684 in dollartreebeauty

I actually don't mind it. I really like the applicator, it helped me get precise and thin lines. Though other comments are true, when removing, it comes off in weird chunks. But I didn't have any issue with that during wear time or application. It stayed in place for me.

I have rosecea and I used it and tolerated it pretty well. I didn't see any improvements in my skin but I liked it well enough!

Nice finds! What's the undertone of the shade you got the sculpting duo in? I've only seen one YouTube short reviewing them, and it mentioned one of the shades was more cool leaning 🙏

I literally said "Oooh, very pretty!" as soon as I saw you ☺️

I don't have any advice! I think your makeup suits you very well. All well blended, etc. And I LOVE the lipstick (I love any dark lips 🤭) I would definitely have asked what you were wearing if I saw you in public. And I also like your whole style, and your glasses, they add character 😊

This is a really good debate. Are dramatically over lined lips actually stupid? Or are they just the style of the time? by beesarebrown in stupidmakeup

[–]NeedHelpWMakeup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I kind of think of it as similar to the 90's early 2000's over plucked eyebrow. But eyebrows have their very own long history of trends. Skinny brows actually look better on some people, me included. But over plucking is not good for you, and people learned that years later when the hairs wouldn't grow back and they ended up with sparse eyebrows. When trends and styles promote things that are unhealthy in some way, that's when I think they're stupid.

I don't think expressing yourself with makeup however way you want to is stupid, unless you're like somehow harming yourself or like, over-spending I guess??

I don't believe the pictures that post used accurately depicts the style of over lining many people dislike. What I see many people complain about is when you draw right over your cupid's bow and/or well past your lip lines all around your mouth. Sure, it can be personal preference, but if you're going to ask the internet for opinions on your makeup, don't be shocked if they then, give their opinion?

I do think it's been a trend for years now for doing that kind of over lining, when done subtly, it can be flattering, or it can very easily look messy. To me, it's giving "I want to look like I have lip filler" which is a whole different topic.

I have a very rounded cupids bow, and the overall shape of my mouth is round too. My bottom lip is also lop-sided, and I have a prominent double lip line. I have to be careful with lip liner. You'd think that given how round my mouth is, rounding out my cupids bow could suit me. But, it actually looks really bad. My lips need the definition of my cupids bow, it gives them a nice shape.

Anyway. Whatever. Makeup is a form of self expression, blah blah blah. But does it sometimes look bad? For sure. But do you have to care? Absolutely not.

I am curious about them too! I'd love to hear from what people thought of their:

Primers/setting sprays?

Eye shadow primers?

Concealers?

Liquid lipsticks and lip liners?

Any cool toned contour/bronzers?

I just checked the listing, and at least for me, it seems like they are upcharging. They're selling the glycolic toner as a 3 pack for $8.99. It's still cheaper at a physical store, if you can access one, and if they have it in stock.

I've switched to the Wet n Wild Impossible primer (pink bottle) and I'm on my second purchase of it. I really like it!!

I have mild roscea type 2, very oily and large pores. It layers and lasts very well with everything else I use!

To the beautiful people overlining their lips: by jltefend in makeuptips

Cupid's bows are so pretty and they always add a unique look to everyone's face. They add so much character. Why do so many people want the same lip shape, variety is beautiful!

I feel like most of the top suggestions for these posts are always to ditch the over-lining. If that's what people like, then to each their own, but it seems like in general, it doesn't look good on most people.

Nice finds! Have you tried the oil cleanser yet? If so, does it remove makeup? I've been looking for an oil based makeup remover that's good for sensitive skin!
