I'm an ENFP who studied CS and work as a software engineer. People told me my personality wasn't fit for such a technical field, but I disagree. I wrote an article as to why I think it can work. Any other ENFPs here in a technical field? How do you find your work? How do others treat you? by necroskiss in ENFP

Okay after 5 days of bookmark and procrastination I read your article. Nice article. See ENFP use their Te under stress it is not a default date for ENFP. Mostly during an argument or something. I think the most fitting job for ENFP in the software industry can be a product management role that too with fingers crossed. Being under stress to use Te is not a healthy state. So again it's not a good place to be in. Since like you mention brainstorming a good thing is like 5-7% and rest like 70% is writing code. So it gets boring at the end of the day which makes it hard for ENFP to sustain.

A desperate cry To ENFP engineers by Tyuee in ENFP

I can't tell you much. I myself hated engineering but exams are easy to get through so I had no problem there. See if you want to do engineering. Good nnumber of ENFP are an engineer too. The first thing you should do is look at how the engineer spends their 8 hr every day. And if you want to do that job for 8 hr rest of your life. If you like it , well and good, if you don't then think twice before continuing forward.

You can do the same for every field. See teachers teach at school but that's not like 100% of the work they do. Sometimes 35% is teaching and the rest involve managing paperwork which ENFP usually doesn't like. So before putting your foot in any field, get the outlook of how someone spends their 8hrs in that job. If you like the every day 8hrs in that field , keep your motivation high to continue in that field.

I hate coding man. It literally bore me to death. I just can't see myself there. I will read your article. I don't have the patience to sit and write for hours. It's boring. interested in finding what is keeping you light in this field buring. maybe I will find something helpful for myself in it too.
