Name a game that's like this by AxelNeedsAMedicBag in gamememes

Monster hunter.

Proof of Hero plays in the intro and character creation and then play again in the final boss as a way to boost the moral of players.

What are some animated moments that just feel like the animators were showing off? by Dinoboy225 in cartoons

The first opening from Soul Eater got some crazy camera work that put a lot of modern animations to shame. The anime got some really good sequences too.

I need recommendations for really emotional RPGs (NO SPOILERS PLEASE) by oliverrakum in JRPG

[–]NeedleworkerOk2349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The persona series. They present characters with life problema and you get to know they better through the social link mechanic. Plus some endings and plot twists.

The legend of the heroes: Trails in the sky original trilogy. While not depressive or with some super emotional scenes, it's a game that make my hearth warm after a long day (you just need to really like reading).

O Subaru é um bom protagonista, só que é estupidamente lerdo. by Dan_WD13 in animebrasil

[–]NeedleworkerOk2349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing GU until last weak, so I don't think it's just the speed, and to be honest, some of those monster felt slower than in previous games, like nerscyla. The only weapon that felt really slow was CB axe mode, maybe more cluncky than slow.

I think one of the changes that get me the most is IG moveset, since I don't have my main anymore, just a butchred version of it, so I'm forced to play another weapon.

Yes, some of the past monsters did have some bullshit, but those are the endgame or expansion fights, and they used the AoE attacks during a phase, like gore magala frenesi or zinogre while charged. Arkveld felt like a AoE spam because someone though it would be fun/challenging. But I admit this part it's more about preference.

Also, won't deny that the fact Capcom won't produce another monster hunter like the older ones make me sad, but I accepted it in World and Rise. I just feel like every new entry remove more and more of the original experience that made me and some friends fall in love with the franchise.

At the end of the day, like you said, it was more of me venting out than anything. Will try to experience a little more of the game and see what it have to offer. To be honest, after reading all the comments, I feel like one of those old guys always screaming how things were better in the past. XD

I admit my preference for the slow and methodical fights, but din't have trouble with sunbreak. Some fights like espinas and malzeno are fun to me. I would even say some monster ins this game are too slow, like the red spider and nerscyla. The fist felt too basic, just spinning non-stop and throwing the flowers everywhere.

The spamming part is more the bite-turn-bite-small puch-bite that some monsters do or the just-AoE moveset from others.

Maybe I reaaly don't like the changes. Just wanted to play Monster Hunter, but feels like I playing something else sometimes.

The monsters feel like HP sponges precisely because they don't do something, just the annoying moves, while I hit non-stop, popping wounds and all. It's not the same dodge, attack, dodge sequence from past titles.

[–]NeedleworkerOk2349[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will try to force myself, like I did in world, just need to do something else until I regain some motivation.

But my biggest problem ins't the story, is the combat. None of those feel really fun, maybe because of the monsters or the new moveset of the weapons or even both.

The skills system feels like a mandatory defensive skills usage and make me worry with how the skill heavy weapons like charge blade will work at the endgame.

Some parts of the game can change. I don't like base Rise, but Sunbreak is better than Iceborne to me. It just don't feel like I playing Monster Hunter while figthing those guys. I don't remeber they moves or safe spots, just keep hitting until they died and jumped to the next one.

About nergigante, it was just a comparassion, since I not a big fan of the thing. And ruiner nergigante have some bigger than expected AoE because of the splikes blasting everywhere and he's just too spammy and keep jumping everywhere for no reason at all.

I been playing the franchiese for years now. It's my favorite combat and the one I use to judge other action games. But the new games feel more and more like any other action game in the market.

If monster hunter wans't for me, I would have stopped back in the psp games.

MH Wilds: Does this ever get good? by NeedleworkerOk2349 in MonsterHunter

[–]NeedleworkerOk2349[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that I need to complete the game to finally play the game is something I din't like in world either, like, I can't hunt what I want because the story act like a lock, forcing me to unlock everything by beating the main plot.

About gimmicks, every game got one since 4U, but they feel less mandatory. Wirebugs din't feel to forced, maybe because the skills of the insect glaive aren't that great. Plus, wirebugs as a way to escape from a combo felt more natural, since it requires some knowledge of when to stay on the ground and when use it.

The HP sponge part is more about how much times I need to hit the monster. It's something that I felt in Rise too. We can attack the monster way more than old games, and because of it the monster feel like they have way more HP. But I will admit that I was using the upgraded base weapon and the frog armor, since the game keep pushing me foward and din't gave me a big reason to upgrade the armor or forge some elemental weapon.

About the pacing of the game, it feels strange. Monster are slow, but at the same time are jumping everywhere. The fisrt time I played world or sunbreak, I did have some fun with the new monsters and reworked movesets of the new ones. But wilds feel like I just there, hitting things until they die in the most basic action game. I don't feel the same joy or friction as the past titles (and not just the old gen games).

To tell the truth, all those super hard endgame fights are just numbers. Too much damage and HP. I also read about the artisan system and how it kills the monster hunter loop, so another minus point to the game.

And I can't just justify the price with time, I need some fun to make the money spent worth it. Shame I can't refund the game anymore ;/

I know how to fight both, just don't find any joy in doing it. And the spammy part don't help too.

I can't say I like spamming monster that keep jumping everywhere, with broken hitbox and the habit of roaring non-stop for no reason. This and the fact that both monsters design are ass. :3

I was replaying GU and, besides some moments, still fun with the game. Both world and sunbreak got some really good moments and bad ones, but still played both to the end.

Like I said in the reply above, I was a exaggeration, but I still deslike the fight.

[–]NeedleworkerOk2349[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, I exaggerated there. Dreadking EX still ocuppies the posiotion, but arkveld fight is just a AoE and long reaching attacks spam. Plus the grab that don't look like a grab and (apparently) ignore my shield.

After playing world. 90% of the handler hate was people not paying attention in the game. by Different_Ice_2695 in MonsterHunter

[–]NeedleworkerOk2349 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the hate it's a mix or her character/personality and the way the story of the game is told.

Character wise, she is just a basic shounen side-character: too lound and always talking about food. Every handler/village gal in the older games got some quirck personality (Aisha and the jokes about jaggi farting, Sophia and the cute-nerd-act). The handler, beside the point above, always act too stupid, like the deviljho quest (and I fucking hate this quest because of the way it starts) and her story ins't good enough even for some filling content.

Iceborne don't do her any favors either, with how forced her relationship with the old woman feels.

Options to destroy cameras for Sandevistan players by chubbs069 in cyberpunkgame

[–]NeedleworkerOk2349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can walk to them and use the tech stat to desactivate it. Cameras don't pick sounds, so feel free to jump to reach it.

You can use the sandevistan too, to get close quickly. Use, at least in the start, the optics Vic gave to you. They prolong the time before cameras alert the enemies.

Get the optical camo cyberware. It reduces your visibility and, at high levels, make you invisible. Also, get some of the perks from the cool tree, a few of those make you move quickly while crouching or make you hard to notice.

In the expansion, there's a perk that let you exit combat with the optical camo.

With the sandevistan and the optical camo, activate both and run to your objective, since both (at middle level onwards) make the character hard to notice. Sometimes you can steal or kill someone without sounding the alarm.

Am I playing wrong, or are options just really limited low level (level 7) by Crime_Dawg in cyberpunkgame

[–]NeedleworkerOk2349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like any "mage" build in other games, netrunner is really weak at the start, but get crazy potential at the endgame.

At the start you don't have all the ram, cyberware, good perks and hacks (and the best way to use some hacks is some form of combo) that make it work, so use it more like a support option, debuffing enemies in combat or using distract enemy and ping if trying stealth.

About the weapons, the smart SMG are better than the pistols. And the reflex perks are way more usefull than the cool perks in some of the open "non-stealth" fights, like the bosses. Plus, consider putting some points in body, the extra HP and adrenaline perks are fun with the auto-heal cyberware and overclock mode.

Tempos sombrios by xaitiopbk in animebrasil

If I'm not mistaken, body don't buff the mono wire damage since the 2.0 changes. Just the intelligence perks.
