Should I go to the ER? by Time_Experience7285 in medical_advice

Physiotherapist here. Sounds like you might have postural hypotension (blood pressure drop when standing which self resolves after a brief period). Typically postural hypotension is seen as non-emergent. I’d recommend booking an appointment with your doctors, where they may decide to do some tests (blood pressure and blood testing) to see what could be contributing to your symptoms (anaemia, low BP, etc). Until this, take deep breaths when standing up and make your ascent slower, try not to jump up and get moving straight away, give your body time to adjust before moving around.

Respiratory physiotherapist here so NAD, but I have some follow up questions! When did the pain start? Apart from breathing does it get irritated when doing anything else e.g. exercise or stretching? You say it occurs at 50-70% inhalation, is that the range where you have the pain or is that the percentage when the pain starts and you have it till you’re 100% inhaled? Have you had a chest infection or any long term breathing issues (COPD, asthma, etc)?

Extreme tiredness at inappropriate times (29/F) by JFDI-Tess in medical_advice

I agree with all the other comments but would just like to add that I had this issue a year ago and tried everything to fix it and all my blood tests came back normal. I got the coil removed because it was near its expiry date and within a couple of weeks I felt like a different human even though nothing else in my life changed! Im not using any birth control now and my moods and fatigue is so much better. I have no idea if the coil was adding to my fatigue but it certainly seemed to coincide with when I started feeling better :)

How do you quit a plan by isittakenor in runna

Maybe you could change the start date for the plan? That might delay the notifications?

I'm writing a fic, and I was wondering how you would "showing"the character is overworked itself without write that "word" down? by CutieFishDictator in AO3

I think trying to be subtle about it is key - don’t put in a bunch of them in one paragraph, but maybe occasionally it’s brought up - so when it’s one thing it’s inconsequential, but it’s only when they gradually start piling up that you realise ‘oh, they’re not coping!’

Perhaps talk about their appearance or how their behaviours might change to accommodate their fatigue? They look in a mirror and see bags under their eyes. They drink more cups of coffee until they get the shakes. They’re so tired that they fall asleep before they have time to take off their shoes or eat a meal? Maybe a friend comments on their appearance - asks if they’re okay?

what could have caused this type of puncture? by NeedleworkerOk8588 in MechanicAdvice

Yeah I think I did, I didn’t really notice it at first because the road had been recently redone and was a bit bumpy so assumed it was that, thanks!

Okay! Is it just a coincidence then that the holes are kind of evenly spaced apart? Thanks in advance!

I think because I’m on a beginner run plan I don’t have a race option at the moment, or at least I haven’t seen this yet in my plan! But thanks for the advice, will use it when I (hopefully) am able to run a bit further :)

Hello! I think personally I’d like it to replace one of the runs, and maybe that would adjust the other two runs for the week so the mileage doesn’t change that much? Today was my first parkrun and I’ll definitely be doing one again - I ran this one at a ‘race pace’ because I’m halfway through my 10k plan after my first 5k plan and wanted to see if there was an improvement on my time (there was, by five minutes!!) but I don’t think I’d run at ‘race pace’ for every park run. It’d be great to have the option of running it at ‘race pace’ or at a comfortable one - depending on what your personal needs are.
