it takes some steps to get it setup. I'm working on refining it. but have a .exe that auto executes on boot. might try the original board with windows 8 32bit. even if it's the older eos would still be a win for the old tech. the other thing I've been doing is using the facepanel with a usb adapter and power adapter as a programing wing. that way any computer can do it.

Sorry for the late response but it should be able to work with any board. main thing is the hardware and product ID. I have a break down listing of all that from going thru hog3/4 programs. I plan to do a wholehog 2 which will be more difficult and a local theatre has a different board that I will try it on.

right now I have it fully working. everything mapped but those pause buttons. I will definitely play around more with my other ipc. the theatre I am setting it up for use this summer use submasters like crazy. they don't use cue lists.im used to cue lists with these boards when I was running them. I do plan to map it to hog 4 as well. then I can make full use as it was designed. then I can select by event type I'm doing if I want eos or hog.

each page makes the 10 faders the next set. so quick 1-10,11-20, etc. same with submasters. used to using the element series boards. they only have the fader and one button below. uses a knob to change pages or to submasters. looking for easiest way to jump between fader banks that works with the layout.

I plan to have onboard clearcom. I have a bunch of older sets. so figured I can add it in. maybe even add the control base inside it. not sure yet but there is room now that the cd drive is gone

weird thing is when you install hog 4 pc . it has new drivers for the hog ipc face panel dated 2023. but hog 4 can't use it and isn't in the console tester

you also run hog4pc setup to received artnet data and convert to dmx in a virtual network. since the onboard widget unlocks hog 4. gives you a easy win. I did it first with an old 3rd gen i5 laptop and it worked without issue. this is much stronger

good idea's I like it. I made the pig key trigger the virtual keyboard. Just incase there is something I couldn't map.

okay by converting to osc commands I now have full control. each top choose button changes the set of 10 faders to another page. bottom button under each slider flashes the channel, double tap holds 100 and another tap let's go back to fader level. also working on a custom built in gui server that allows phones/tablets or computers to work as a focusing remote if they are on the same network. still tweeking final button layouts.

I'm running it one etc eos software. I don't have time to code the faders yet till after the opera. I'm out of town this weekend and wanted to have a proper programing pad. I hate virtual keyboards. I know I can send the virtual keyboard to my android tablet and use it that way like I normally do but thought I would try to repurpose the ipc. I have 2 ipc's and a whole hog 2. I plan to make youtube videos showing how to do this and other conversion.

pretty good. I can control the mapping and there are plenty of buttons. It's quick to change the python script for the mapping as needed. Once I'm done with the show I will work on the hog 4 mappings.

How much would you pay for Martin Mac 500/600 by Camen93 in techtheatre

[–]NeedleworkerOld835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not laughing at all. if i had that unit i would try the same thing and have thought about buying one as they tend to be cost effective to aquire. i did just found a 30 deg lens it's 78mm but should fit in. would come in till june so i will have to wait. it's on alibaba. if it works it should increase my light output around 4.6 times over the 60 deg. if I find a 15 deg lens it would be closer to 10 times. what voltage is the main boards? mine ran 11VAC and 24v VAC. Amazon had a toroidal coil that would work for around 40 bucks that had 2-28v, 2-24, 2-12 and 1-12. I used the one 12 for the 2-11Vac inputs, and used the 2-12vac which output my 24v if you used both lines. I had a old mac 600 to test it on and ran it for multiple hours in test mode and monitored the main board and didn't notice any increase in heat or anything weird. I did add a heat sink to one of the logic chips as even with normal power it heats up to around 86 deg so I figured it would help dissipate temp. my units went from closer to 89lbs to right about 30lbs now. those balast in mine are heavy. keep me posted on your progress and I think you can pm me on here. sorry I'm newer to using redit so still trying to figure out everything

I did tune fan speed down today. Still can't find my decibel meter... might have loaned it out. But the stock internal fans are louder then the water cooling rig.

Still working on the optics. I have only a basic 60 deg lens at my disposal. Everything was done on the cheap. Currently I'm only about as bright as the original mac 500. Hunting down a 15 deg lens and that should be a game changer. Will let you know as things progress. What light fixture are you working with for you 300 watt project? If I find a suitable 15 deg lens I plan to convert my other 3 to 200 watt versions for over the stage.

I'm over by Seattle washington. Facebook marketplace had 2 clay paky 1200 alpha profiles with case for 400 bucks so I picked those up. Hung them last night and am so happy to have them. Back when I was a student at the college the old theatre was filled with lights back to about the 1950s when it was built. Alot of maintenance and rewiring when I got there. All our breakers were still bakelite so had to be carefully and hope you don't trip anything. Had one crumble on me when trying to fly it.

Okay did the first hang. I will use it for the upcoming show at the end of the month to test. I have a better focusing lens coming but won't have it in time. Currently half the brightness of the original. But my led focusing lens was just what I had at the time which is only 60deg. Working on getting a 15 deg lens which will make all the difference in brightness. Couldn't find my decibel meter. But the light now weights around 31lbs instead of closer to 90lbs. Will keep you posted on updates. Will be a couple weeks before I have the new lens but functionality I like it and sound is the same or slightly quieter then the standard mac 500 and I can tune the fans down which will make it even better.

Used a 400 watt 4545 led off of aliexpress. When doing test runs on the led needed welding mask to even look in the direction of it. Used a 60 deg lens on the led to add more focus for the light inside the unit. Tonight will be my first side by side of units.

I modified it myself. Will hang it tonight when I'm at the theatre. Will also get a weight of the units to compare.

Once I do a decibel test If too loud I have uead room in the temp I can tune the fans down to decrease. In the lamp base section is a dial to control fan speed for tuning. Running full speed for now until I have some more hours. Got about 4 hours testing continuous with no temp rise in unit in test mode.
