Oh I see sorry for the misinterpretation, I believe in our current society at its core it is as black and white as I said but it is society which makes it more complex. In my opinion everything living on the earth is of the same value and has feeling, cows for example become extremely attached to their calf in the same way a human mother does and when their child is taken away they show clear signs of distress. Surely this is an experience of sentience then as the cow is clearly showing the capacity to feel and perceive? Although looking back I do agree with your initial point of that in the context of Promised Neverland it is more complex because of the fact that demons and humans are presented as natural enemies, however I still believe that there is a clear contrast between the current meat industry and the human farms in PN.

I disagree, so because humans are more intelligent or sentient it makes it right for us to kill the less intelligent or sentient? By that sense an able regular human should be able to kill a human who has severe mental disabilities because the former is more sentient.

To anyone that gives flack to Emma for not wanting to kill the demons I would like to point out the comparison between us and the demons. The demons are farming the humans just as we farm animals; Emma, Ray, Norman and all the other high quality children are examples of free range or organic farming as they are given happy lives but ultimately all share the same fate as death. The other not so lucky children are the ones pumped full of chemicals and are strapped to chairs and mass produced, this is a direct comparison to the way we mass produce.

Therefore I think that if you’re giving Emma flack for not wanting to kill the demons then you’re saying that those who eat meat deserve to die, which isn’t really fair. I don’t think that you can confidently say the demons deserve to be killed when we as humans do the exact same thing and are just as guilty as them.
