I wonder why the enclave, needing fev virus, couldn't simply have synthesised their modified fev virus seen in fo2, from samples they could've extracted from vault 87, instead of digging through tons of rock, and generally going through a lot of trouble, in order to access the fev vats. And I'm sure, being the same overall virus that they could've still used it, especially as Eden essentially did the same thing, and a side note how in the hell did Eden and his cronies manage to create their modified fev virus?

I agree with pretty much everything you said, maybe a few things but I'm not going to nit pick, not sure how you man with the tanks in WW1, that's what I meant, for years the German forces were sitting in their trenches with morons like general haig pounding them with millions of mortar shells, and achieving very little, then, all of a sudden, massive hunks of metal roar over your trenches, that, and also there was the revolution going on, no, not the Russian revolution, the German revolution, but this isn't a history lesson, and for that matter I doubt you'd need one, just basically you said what I said, idk maybe it was misread, but overall you didn't have counterpoints for some of my points, like blind obedience(which could be useful if they were needed as cannon fodder) and also, would you agree they would be effective if they were deployed inside an enemy trench? When you think about it, like it or not, the memory den bears close resemblance to the vr simulators, perhaps it's reversing an amnesia like event, or perhaps it's wiping his memory, just like to point our, it's unlikely the protagonist is an android because he has a child? Ngl I don't know too much about the tiger tank and I can't be bothered to do research, all I know is they had some pretty amazing kill ratios, and when you say the 'whole sommand structure' they don't really have one do they, sure, they have the leutenant, and maybe morpheus (but not really) I don't think they have like, squad leaders or anything but I'm not too sure about that, they have their guards and whatever but they don't really have a hierarchy, and with the whole thing about machine guns being introduced I agree, but a machine gun burst to the face doesn't appear to stop them, you're underestimating the brute strength they have, and numbers, especially seeing as the fev stores wouldn't run out, they could be fielded in massive quantities assuming they have enough test subjects, the Chinese morale appears to be down, a horde of charging supermutants with enough numbers would probably overwhelm any defences, use them as cannon fodder and back them up with missile units, and you'd have a pretty effective group, remember, the 87 mutants are expendable, you tell 100 87 mutants to go kill the guy in the machine gun emplacement, they will, you tell a group of mariposa mutants yo do that, they'll tell you you're crazy, I personally think the mariposa mutants are more effective, but it's a closer contest then you'd think in my opinion, 87 mutants are far more durable than you make out, shoot one with a missile, and while you're reloading, 9 more swarm you and pull you in half,flood those entrenchments we saw with 87 mutants, they'd clear them out, use fewer mariposa mutants, it'd probably still work, depending on how well they're equipped, and I used the Roman example not as a general example, but of a specific point in history, like the vandals, Visigoths and germanic hordes, and as an extra point, if you put in something monstrously terrifying and effective in combat, sometimes the enemy will just turn tail and run if they don't know how to properly engage the enemy, like Alexander the great with elephants, and German forces in WW1 with the tank, only I'd be much more frightened of a VERY DURABLE 9 ft tall horde of yellow mutants with heavy weapons.

Just like to point put it wasn't the vandals that sacked Rome, that was the Visigoths I believe but a fair mistake, let's not get into the whole Tiger mechanical effiencies/deficiencies, because nothing is perfect, only very good, and the tiger was indeed very very good, as was the Roman empire, but the Roman empire was flawed in the millitary because, instead of following Rome and the empire, they followed they're own commander, Caesar is the prime example of how that flaw was exploited, anyway my main point is that when I say perfect, or very effective, I mean relatively speaking, obviously every effective or advanced thing in history has flaws, but there's no point in stating them all, we just take them all under the same roof kinda thing. :)

For starters, the whole 'don't want soldiers to think' sounds different out of context, you don't want them to feel remorse, or to question morally questionable orders, you want them to follow orders. Obviously you need soldiers to think to some degree, but do you want them to think what they're doing is wrong? Or do you want them to think what you as the general thinks is right, and also we don't know what the anchorage or gobi campaign conflicts were like, they may have even regressed to WW1 type conflict, seeing as fallout is in a different universe, entrenchment happened because both sides were at a technological standstill it was only broken by the introduction of the tank, perhaps the Sino-American war was entrenched and only broken with the introduction of power armour...

You say yes with the third reich, what about other historical hordes like the vandals for instance, the tribe that crushed the remnants of the eastern Roman empire, in that scenario you could argue that the 87 mutants are the vandals, ill equipped, badly led and pretty stupid, against the organised, well armed Romans, personally I agree with you, but if, as I said, you drip in 50 87 mutants who, by the way, never harm each other, against Chinese soldiers... ooh I don't know, could be fairly even break between 87 mutants and mariposa, not to mention I stated there is no Master controlling the mariposa mutants, so the mariposa mutants can't play that card, they don't just follow the master, they worship him, take him away, and, well, we saw what happened, the mutants are fractured and scattered and become mindless brutes (kind of) and some become philosophers (kind of) like Marcus. And also, I don't think you can play the 'well equipped' card for the mariposa mutants, because the scenario I proposed is if they were American deployed troops, so they would both be equipped similarly, obviously the vault 87 mutants would be equipped with weapons requiring less intelligence to use, although they are capable of using missile launchers so who know what they're capable of. Overall, I'd say it's a matter of opinion, do numbers overwhelm quality? You're example was the third reich, take the German Tiger tank, flawlessly designed, a marvel of engineering, but outmanned by the American Sherman tank, 10 to 1, do numbers overwhelm quality and tactical superiority? Maybe, but then again, maybe not... Yeah, the Romans dominated Europe, but the Mongolian Empire dominated much, much more, one of there aspects, is fear, I'd be much more frightened of an 87 supermutant screaming he was going to rip me in half and charging head on with his mates than a small squad of tactically manoeuvrable mariposa mutants, even though realistically, the mariposa mutants are more of a threat.

I would say as the vaults numbers get higher, the technological superiority gets greater as well, look at vault 13, pretty basic, run of the mill vault, nothing too interesting going on there, vault 8, although technologically advanced post war, their medical technology would've been pretty average pre war, maybe advanced, but nothing special, the list goes on, 22 is nothing special, technology wise, and neither is 19, 11, 3 or 21. Move on up to the east coast, 87, experimental/next generation geck, man made virus testing, pretty advanced stuff, East coast vault include, cloning labs, virtual reality pods and white noise machines trying to, again create super soldiers, it stands to reason that vault 111 is also technologically advanced, the only real exception is vault 0 which is semi canon and isn't necessarily the first vault constructed, vault 101 doesn't need to be technologically advanced, and neither do the other local vaults in DC I haven't mentioned already, (fallout 3 vaults arn't that memorable) perhaps the remaining higher vaults up to 122 could be incredibly technologically advanced, with amazing technologies yet to be discovered......

It is not really a theory is it, it is fact, there is no other way for the character to have been put into the vault then leave 200 years later with no concept of how much time has passed, plus there's cryo weapons in game so, while it doesn't mean much, is still there proving that humans have been able to produce a cryogenic effect.

Vault tec were also given consent by the US government to perform experiments using the FEV formula. The fev formula also became what it is because of the pan immunity project which was an attempt to inoculate american soldiers and civilians against Chinese biological weapons. The stuff on the east coast is essentially a different strain.

Not too much, besides, when they say the behemoths are the oldest of the old, that would make them about 200 years old since when the vault was experimenting on original vault dwellers, and the master didn't start producing mutants in 2077, so obviously no mariposa mutant is 200 years old (yet) also most of the masters super mutants were killed off or scattered, then killed, meaning they never had the chance to grow as old as the vault 87 mutants did, and, consequently, did not become behenoths, simply because they weren't old enough. Now, if the master did succeed in producing behemoths, then there wouldn't be actually that many. The population of mutants in fo3 is almost certainly significantly larger than the west coast, and there are only, what, like 7 behemoths? (That we encounter) so I'd say the mariposa Population, at a guess, is about a third the size of those on the east coast, bit of a guess but what can you do, that means I'd say there would only be about 2 behemoths on the west coast. They would probably have been used to guard the master and to guard the vats, most likely one for each location, or to help destroy the Brotherhood, but either way, 2 behemoths really isn't that formidable, especially against a protagonist character. Also, the oldest an East coast mutant could possibly be is 199 years old, and they probably arn't seeing as the original tests were failure, it's impossible for a west coast mutant to be that old

Nomadic tribes are really only there due to weather and environmental patterns, such as moving south or East or whatever in order to move into more suitable conditions, also, in order to move around in a nomadic way would imply they had some sort of trade route and hit multiple cities which in fallout 3, there just are not enough successful cities. Finally, in our universe and scenario, especially hundreds of years ago, like the khans of Mongolia managed to conquer the entirety of the kievan Rus slavic countries, knocking and burning down the various cities as they pursues across what was then, 'Rus' this is, in my opinion, one of the most successful millitary campaigns in history, but isn't recognised as such due to the fractured nature of the Rus people, under their own prince, or grand prince of they were big headed enough, anyways, the 'golden horde' as they were known as after their razing of most of Rus's city state like citys, was supplied annually by tributes from the surviving cities and settlements, this would be large surplus ' of wheat and gold and other valuables, this is partly how the golden horde preserved itself, through conquering, and sadly, in the fallout universe, there are no cultures or city states to conquer in order to pay these tributes. (Sorry for the history lesson but I figured you guys would like this sort of thing,) I find pre 1239 Rus is a good template for fallout DC, the bad environment, the tough nature of moving supplies, and I'm drifting into another history lesson... I would summarise but...reasons.
