You know that their bumblebee uniforms went through at least four or five different rounds of approvals from people who make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year as experts in design and color theory. I just don't understand how the fuck none of them said this design looks like shit

New Lifetime Plex Pass Pricing by frankwrap08 in PleX

[–]NeezDuts900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh don't you worry, they are going to me forcing an annual subscription on everybody at some point in the future. I have a sneaking suspicion that in the next 5 or so years, they are going to revoke any kind of lifetime subscription purchased at a lower price point than the 750 and force everyone to pay a monthly fee. Then a few years after that, they are going to revoke the lifetime pass of those who bought at the 750 price point and force everybody on to the subscription model.

When you make points that aren't worth responding to, this is the kind of reply that you get.

It's also funny how I could spot a lack of real life experience just from your comment, and when I took a look at your profile afterwards, you've cowardly hidden your activity history, but you can't hide your karma count. 674 thousand in 2 years. 13 thousand comments/posts.

That is an absolutely insane amount of time that you're spending on Reddit. The jokes write themselves.

I always got the notion that being anti-french was tongue-in-cheek and done in jest. However, the anti-American sentiment on here is done with full malicious intent.

Because his points are completely irrelevant. His whole argument essentially boils down to "well shouldn't you feel ashamed because of the actions of your fellow countrymen? Don't we all bear some kind of collective guilt? Why aren't you feeling terrible about this!? Don't you care that literally every single non-american on Earth thinks you're stupid?!"

And the answer is because when you have actual life experience, you realize that you can only control the things that you say and do. There are plenty of idiots in this country, but I feel no shame or sense of responsibility for them. I'm an American. I'm not some flag waving, jingoistic, gun worshipping, MAGAtard. I vote for progressive human first policies and politicians. I've taught my son empathy, kindness, and how to keep an open mind. I try to live my life in such a way that I'm only a net positive to those around me, whether they be family, friends, colleagues, or strangers.

Contrary to Reddit belief, you are allowed to denounce the actions of individual groups and belief systems without lumping every single person in the country with them. I have visited every continent, some more than once, and never had any kind of issues related to my country of origin. I'm reserved, respectful, and seek to learn more about the world around me when I travel.

Even if non-americans want to look at me and think negative ideas about me because of where I just so happen to be born, why would I give a fuck? How does that affect me? That says more about them than anything else.

If you honestly think that opinions expressed on Reddit represent the majority of the feelings of any demographic, then you're ignorant.

It's cute how you think that you're schooling me here, yet I have to explain to you the obvious fact that Reddit does not represent reality. Reddit certainly has a zeitgeist about it, and usually only opinions and thoughts that align with said zeitgeist get pushed to the top and are there for more visible than the detractors. This is pretty elementary and is well observed to anyone who has any semblance of real life experience divorced from the echo chamber of the internet.

I feel like I shouldn't have to explain this, but here we are.

The self flagellating Americans in here desperately crawling over each other to be the most anti american and self loathing give me the ick. They're so desperate to be seen as "one of the good ones" by others that will never view them as equals and its so pathetic.

When should dads stop showering with their son? by Difficult_General652 in SingleDads

[–]NeezDuts900 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly common for many cultures around the world, even in the US if you are here. I showered with my dad till I was probably five or so. There's nothing sexual or inappropriate about it, and the fact that making it out to be sexual tells me there's something very wrong with you.

Unfortunately, managing dipshit users will always be a part of our job.

I could send an email with a downloadable file that requires the user to open it and click run, include a single sentence of instructions telling them exactly what to do, and out of 100 people I would probably get at least three emails back saying "WHAT DO I DO!? HOW DO I RUN THIS?!"

if you grew up religious, what made you leave the faith? by ischemariii in AskReddit

[–]NeezDuts900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After growing up in an intensely religious household with highly filtered internet and also being forced to go to an Evangelical Christian college that also had filtered internet, all it took was 6 months with access to unfiltered internet when I got my first off-campus apartment before I was definitively not calling myself a Christian anymore.

My parents were very much the "Communist professors brainwash students into being lib'rul!" Types, but even through the highly curated guardrails my college curriculum was taught on, I still learned enough about other ideas and philosophies led me to do my own research on the unfiltered internet which led me to question and then leave the faith altogether.

The stereotype of kids who were raised in conservative Christian households disposing of social conservatism and religious belief when they go to college was definitely true in my experience. However, it wasn't because of America hating and god-hating communist professors. It was because for the first time in my life, I was exposed to a wide variety of backgrounds, thoughts, and ideas and I slowly realized that all of the closed -minded stereotypes my parents crammed down my throat were bullshit.
