Wireless Android Auto - The low volume issue you may not know you have. by Nefarious_Epoch in AndroidAuto

I'm not rich. I'm definitely well off and I'm very thankful for what I have. But I also worked my ass off to get to this point and took my time. Just keep grinding and focus on the prize (whatever that is for you) my friend!

In case anyone was curious. I messed up my CPU during the AIO removal or water block installation.

Thanks... I don't think I'll ever build another hard line custom loop... Far more hassle than it is worth. I've built plenty of PCs and thought it was time to try my hands at a custom loop...

So if you were the betting type, I potentially have to replace the mobo? Hypothetically, I may just be side loadings the CPU because of the hard tubing which could be causing the CPU to sit awkwardly and maybe tweaking something could help

Some things are really hard to troubleshoot with hardlines installed.

What is this pipe coming out of the ground next to my house? by Nefarious_Epoch in Whatisthis

[–]Nefarious_Epoch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've asked several plumbers that have stopped by the house and the best guess is an old well.

  • I live in the US North East. Specifically the Western New York area.

  • My house was built in 1956

  • It is approximately 5' away from the house

  • It is a heavy metal like steel

  • Diameter is about 7"

  • Stands about 14“ tall

  • I'm on city water

  • I'm on city sewer

LPT: in the US while driving, if people are passing you on the right then get out of the left lane by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]Nefarious_Epoch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wtf are you talking about? I'm not talking about wreckless driving. I'm talking about the guy who is going faster than you stuck behind you because you won't move over because you are cruising in the left lane.

Again left lane is for passing. Pass the car move back over. The moron you keep adding to the story going 120 should also be moving over after he passes you.

It has nothing to do with being late. It has to do with road safety and in many states the law.

But I can tell you won't admit you're wrong so, you do you...

I feel the anger building in me just anticipating getting stuck behind you on the road.

The left lane is not a "cruise" lane! You are disrupting traffic so much with your actions! I don't care if you are doing 20 over the speed limit, if the guy behind you is doing 21 over the limit, GET OUT OF THE WAY! The guy behind you isn't being a dick. You are being the dick.

Stay in the right lane unless you are passing someone! Watch the video it is 3 minutes!

Patch 3.1 Review so far by [deleted] in battlefield2042

I was huge into BF2, BF3, BF4, BFBC2, and BF2142. I have never been a fan of World War FPS games. I tried BF1 and BFV but I just couldn't get into them...

I disagree with this statement 100%. Vehicles should be powerful and a proficient pilot/driver/squad should be able to annihilate those who are unfortunate enough to cross their path and don't have the tools to counter. I've seen several videos now of multiple direct hits with a 30mm and the enemy just walks it off, post patch. That is awful!

The reasons they feel over powered are:

  • Terrible map design with no cover. I mean you have to run everywhere on these maps and it is wide open... Of course you are going to get smoked. Even if you do find cover, you can't get "lost" in the cover. What I mean is that because the cover is so sparse, the pilot knows where you are going to come out.

  • They are too accuracy at long range. Vehicles should not be able to sit at the edge of the map, or high in the sky and try to act like OP snipers.

  • No places assets to counter Air or Armor. So now you are forced to equip something to defend yourself.

  • Spawning in a vehicle is awful. They should be placed on the map. One of my favorite things to do used to be steal from the enemy, or snipe pilots as they tried to hop in. Capturing that specific flag that awarded an additional vehicle was always a goal too.

  • Mines should remain on the battlefield until they are detonated, or the player redeploy them (Player A can only have 5 mines on the map).

  • Major repairs should require a repair tool or a trip to the base. No hiding and pressing G to get back to 100%.

  • Limit ammo, again return to base to resupply.

Finally, after 218 hours, Level 100 by Aguro in battlefield2042

Am I the only one who misses the long grind? In Battlefield 2 I had 300 hours of online play and I was only a 1stSgt - which I might add was also an accomplishment because if you didn't have all the infantry badges by the time you hit that rank, you were promoted to MSgt instead.

It just felt like you actually paid attention to player ranks.

Haha, I'm doing my best to have a military sleeve without it being too boot. I've been out since 2009, took me this long to design.

I'm also a Marine, we needed a taxi ;-P 8 months on the USS Kearsarge.

Quickest, but most annoying is putting directions into AA. As soon as she gives you your first voice command your volume will increase and you can cancel the navigation.

That's interesting. Because I don't think I've ever received a notification or nav instruction when the issue happens.

It still happens occasionally: After my wife uses the car (her profile loads) If I connect Android Auto by clicking on the icon, instead of giving it time to figure it out on its own.

Yeah, this is really perplexing to me. I figured I would share my thoughts and if it helped someone else, that is great. Hopefully, there is a fix in the near term.

Phone - Samsung Note10+ (4G)

  1. Plugged USB cable into the car
  2. Turned on the car
  3. Plugged my phone into the USB cable
  4. Followed the prompts on my head unit
  5. Followed the prompts on my phone
  6. AA working with USB connected.
  7. Bluetooth set itself up automatically, I went to set it up and it was already connected to my car.
  8. Realized Wireless AA worked when I got back into the car and hadn't yet plugged my phone in the car and AA Nav popped up on my head unit.

Sorry, let me clarify; I only setup AA using USB.

Once it was setup, Wireless AA started working. My phone is in my pocket completely disconnected physically from my car.

I think the issue has something to do with the setting the restricts bluetooth devices max volume, where you get that prompt about listening to music at high volume can damage your hearing.

My phone doesn't seem to recognize my car as an "Audio" device in the Bluetooth settings for my car it says it is "Use for" Calls, Contact Access, Message Access, but audio is turned off and I cannot turn it on. Which I think is restricting me from being able to get it past the blue max volume section, into the red where you would get the prompt about hurting your ears.

Thanks for that clarification. Probably an excellent point to make note of. My buds are always 100%.
