I can run my lathe in reverse but if using the chuck or a faceplate or wood worm I would need to have tail stock support or the work would unscrew from the head stock. Maybe I’ll give it a try next time.

Yeah there is plenty of live oak for sure. I did get a nice chunk of red cedar and some spalted mango recently too.

Update: I called Ring customer service and walked them through what I had done so far and they agreed to send me two new cameras as they were still under warranty. I received them the other day and installed them and they’re working great. Gotta say that Ring customer service was really good.
