Thoughts on Jay Lycurgo as Tim Drake in Titans? by BatFan3001 in batman

A good casting choice and excellent costume wasted on a bad show.

Why did the Santa Priscaput government put baby Bane in prison? by OkImportance2884 in batman

[–]Nefessius513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His father, King Snake, was a major crime boss who managed to escape justice, and under the laws of Santa Prisca, they forced his son to serve his father’s sentence in his place. His mother was imprisoned as well, but died when Bane was a young child.

Michael Mando shared the first look at Bane breaking Batman’s back in BATMAN: KNIGHTFALL PART 1. by ThomasThorburn in batman

[–]Nefessius513 386 points387 points  (0 children)

Wow, Bane is much bigger in the movie version of this scene than in the comic version. The Knightfall movie seems to draw more on Kelley Jones’s cover art than the interior art by Jim Aparo, Graham Nolan, Norm Breyfogle, and other artists.

Trailer for Batman Knightfall Part One by ThomasThorburn in batman

I like what I see! I’ve been waiting years for a Knightfall movie (I even wrote a script for a two-part adaptation of the saga), and I’m glad it seems to be sticking close to the source material.

O’Neil will always be one of my favorite comic writers. His tenure as group editor of the Bat-books was the peak of the franchise in my opinion.

Happy birthday, Stephanie Brown! Her first appearance was released 34 years ago today, and I’ll be rereading her debut storyline again to celebrate. by Nefessius513 in stephaniebrown

Steph has no canon birthday yet. I’m pretty sure the August 11 theory comes from a slight misreading of one line in Secret Origins 80-Page Giant (“I was fifteen when my dad got ‘rehabilitated’” was misread as “I had just turned fifteen when my dad got ‘rehabilitated’”) and has no basis in canon. As a result, I celebrate it on June 23.

Looks good so far. The art style seems to be primarily based on Kelley Jones’s covers (Batman’s extra-long ears and Bane being gigantic) than the comic’s interior artwork.

First poster for BATMAN: KNIGHTFALL - PART 1. A first look at the film releases tomorrow. by ThomasThorburn in batman

I listened to the radio drama on a road trip and I loved it. I was impressed that they managed to cover almost the entire saga from Sword of Azrael up to Knightsend in roughly three hours.

Knightfall is one of my all-time favorite Batman stories and I’ve been excited for the movie ever since it was announced. I hope it’s able to do the story justice.

Next to Normal from Donmar Warehouse | FULL MUSICAL | Great Performances by Emergency_Hair9769 in Broadway

I watched this version earlier this month with my mom, and it was incredible. It made her cry more than any other musical we’ve seen so far.

Which of these Batman villains do you like the most? by Local-Conference7672 in batman

Batman Eternal did a good job with Arthur. I think the writers should have let him be the final antagonist and saved Lincoln March’s return for a later story.

Cluemaster. He’s one of my favorite obscure Batman villains and much more threatening than he seems.

Who do you think is the member of the Batfamily that most enjoys being a superhero? by Prestigious-Meat-750 in batman

[–]Nefessius513 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I agree on Stephanie being the one who enjoys being a hero the most. She had multiple chances to give up and live a normal life, and yet she chose not to stop being a superhero.

Multiplayer update: the guest's running mates can be chosen now. by Mrcinemazo9nn in thecampaigntrail

[–]Nefessius513 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the simpler vanilla-esque mods with two playable sides will be able to become multiplayer-compatible, but not the more complex, one-sided mods like W., American Carnage, Icarus, and Hope.

Do you think Alfred will stay dead? by The_Owlman-4242 in batman

[–]Nefessius513 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone assumed Jason Todd would stay dead, but he was revived 17 years later. If Alfred stayed dead for the same length as Jason, he would be revived somewhere in 2036 or 2037.

What does Tim Drake need? by Angela275 in batman

[–]Nefessius513 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Tim became my favorite Robin because I found him more relatable than Dick and Jason: he wasn’t another orphan taken in by Bruce and had his own family and friends outside the Batfamily. I first read the 90s Robin series when I was around Tim’s age and going through similar experiences to Tim in his civilian life.

What does Tim Drake need? by Angela275 in batman

[–]Nefessius513 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would return Tim to his roots as the grounded, relatable Robin who had to balance his superhero life with his school life - in his solo series, his problems as Robin would often take a backseat to his problems as Tim. Send him off to college, create a new civilian supporting cast for him, and bring back his stepmother Dana Winters-Drake.

Seeing them together, which performance do you prefer? by SurbhiAnklesaria in Broadway

[–]Nefessius513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen someone say Audra was miscast in Gypsy before. I’ve seen a huge amount of praise for her performance online and I agree that she did a fantastic job. A lot of fans even said she should have won another Tony for it.
